  1. Had about 7-8cm overnight in Hexham. All the schools are shut so I'm out with the kids. John
  2. 1st decent shower of the evening here in Hexham. Everything white and snow blowing all over the place. Still only a dusting though. More to come hopefully. John
  3. Hi Nigel, Looking at 5 pm Met office radar it's quite a bit closer now - only an hour or 2 away for Tyne valley if current progression continues. John

  5. We had a light covering last night - wasn't really expecting it. Currently 1.4C and sunny

  7. Drizzle then froze and then a light dusting of snow by morning in Hexham john

  9. Quite cool for our warm spell. Only 4.5C and sleety rain just started (definitely ice in it so probably snow on high north pennines - Alston, Allenheads?). John

  11. About 2cm in Hexham at 140m asl. Been snowing since approx. 7.30pm. Temp now 0.6C and still snowing lightly. John

  13. Had some in Hexham - but I am in 13-17 on the map with 18-25 on hills. Having said that a few years since a 13! John
  14. Hexham, Northumberland: Approx 2.5cm of snow at approx 140m ASL (less down in the town). Mostly fallen since 8am this morning and still snowing now. Temp currently +0.9C and dewpoint -0.1C. John
  15. -1C here in Hexham, Northumberland this morning. 7th consecutive air frost although warmest night of the 7 only -1C (and it's that now). Light dusting of snow overnight - shower from NE coast must have got this far sometime overnight. Looking forward to tomorrow morning - I think we are well placed. Not too near a coast, well north and a little bit of altitude. Great winter so far! John
  16. Bob, We are not going to get home - Causey Hill shut for example. 3" at work in Stanley. John
  17. About 8Pm we had temp drop from 7.5 to 1.5 in about 30 mins followed by heavy sleet. Stopped now but v.windy. Exciting stuff. John in Hexham
  18. I just noticed the Metoffice very late weather warning as well. I looked out and it's snowing but time for bed. Temp 0.8C and falling in Hexham at 150m. Looks like a fun week of weather ahead! John
  19. Snowed on and off all day in Hexham. 10cm approx. in total. Still very wintry and -0.1C. More to come? Good day! John
  20. It's freezing (technical term). Went out to get fuel at 2.30pm - car said -1C and there is a light breeze. It was sunny earlier but now low cloud cover. A very cold day now up in NE England. John
  21. Hi - first post this year!! Started with sleet at 3C this am but now 0.9C and snowing hard and starting to settle. Home is Hexham Northumberland and I'm at about 150m. Hills must be covered but I can't see them - too much snow!!

  23. Snowing here in Hexham although marginal settling. I live out of the town at approx. 160m and its zero degrees and settling. Down in the town sleet. Probably 2-3 cm accumulated. Radar still looks good. John
