  4. Hi OON Similar for me as I was leaving the house at 8am, wet snow in Hexham in a heavy snower at 2 degrees. John
  5. Had 1 1/2 hours of light snow giving a covering here in Hexham this morning (I was playing golf). Started at -2 finished at about zero. Unexpected? John :o
  6. A bit late in the day now and I see lots of other north-east England reports here but there was a dusting of snow in Newcastle and Stanley this morning. Now at home in hexham (no snow - too far inland) but currently -0.3 celsius. Winter begins!
  7. Just for the records we had about another 5cm of snow this morning in Hexham (at about 160m asl) probably about 12 cm lying now.
  8. About 6cm I guess lying in Hexham, Northumberland (at the top of Causey Hill near Racecourse). Less down in the town - still snowing!
  9. Hi Snowy Britain!! About 5cm in Hexham today and about 2cm yesterday (21st). Still getting heavy snow showers and accumulating significantly. About -0.5 C at present - perfect for snow. I am at approx. 160m so less at River Tyne level. Where have all the mild rampers gone!!!
  10. Morning, only about 1cm of snow in Hexham this morning. Interesting in north east this morning as I'm now at work in Stanley where there is approx. 2cm but not far down the road people are advising 10cm. The showers only get so far in land is the key factor I think. John
  11. Light snow showers on & off all day in Hexham not amounting to much.
  12. A dusting of snow on the ground here in Hexham this morning. Temp around zero. Wasn't really expecting this - too busy looking ahead! John

  17. Snowing here in Hexham Northumberland at about 180m asl. Temp now 0.3 C. Only a dusting so far but heavy showers over the last hour or 2 and temps falling. Hoping to get the sledge out?!?! John
  18. We had about 10-12cm last night at home in Hexham (difficult to measure as it blew about) , less in Stanley. Great Snow though, -4 degrees this morning. Looks like we may get some more from the radar? Going to France skiing tomorrow - should have stayed at home Try and make it cold for when I come back - thanks. :-o
  19. Blizzard and settling in Hexham, Northumberland at 600ft. 0.0 degrees C and falling. A covering already and continuing heavy - looking very good.
  20. Yes as said in Northumberland & Co Durham we had a real snow storm lasting about 1hr or so and dropping another 6-8cm on top of already lying snow. Blizzard like for a while and even had thunder and lightening. This band of snow moving south now so someone will get it!! More to come may be? John Blackwell - you must be quite close. I'm working on tanfield lea industrial estate.
  21. A bit old now but we had about 5-6 cm of snow in Hexham Northumberland at home (600ft) and a little less but still some at lower levels. Expecting more around dawn. I'm happy - hope you all get some!
  22. Is there anyone from northern Scotland on here? Should be snowing there and moving south? Let us all know as we should get it next! John
  23. Sorry me again, but this is where it's happening. Stanley has steady sleet (at about 500ft) but up in Consett a few miles up the road (1000ft) they have 4-5cms already. John
  24. Snowing again here in Stanley in County Durham at 3.20pm. Settling in showers but melts between so no accumulation. Looks like quite a big shower this one. Just the start of things to come! John
  25. A couple of Snow Showers 11am and 1pm in Stanley Co Durham. Real snow settling but then melting - lots more to come I'm sure!
