  1. my mums looking at the radar and out the window going "so do I get the washing in or not? if it rains and it gets we your grounded." FML I need some rain make the humid go away
  2. still not a drop here, radars showing precip right over me but I don't think its reaching the ground. Never seen that happen before...
  3. Its hot its humid and nae chance of a storm now. Helensburgh appears to have developed a storm sheild.
  4. Thanks for the explanation! Thats the problem here, I think all the things are in place, just with this thick cloud in the way theres no surface heating to release the SBCAPE. It's so fustrating
  5. Thats the thing thats bothering me, we've been sat under this warm and humid air mass for almost a week and we haven't seen a single peak of sunshine or rain. Just very think grey cloud. With this cloud cover and no real surface heating there's no trigger for these thunderstorms. I know I'm being pessimistic but I just can’t see this kicking off. Only time will tell, for the west of Scotland its gonna be hit or miss, something will kick off if the damn cloud breaks and lets the sun though but other than that. Something needs to get rid of this stagnant air its driving me crazy. And just really quicky, what exactly is SB CAPE, I know what CAPE is but what does the SB mean? There we go dumb question of the week over with haha.
  6. ...WHY have the MetO got a warning for Heavy Thundary Rain for Strathclyde O_O becau something to se that does not look that heavy or thundary...unless they expect something to blow up out of nothing in the next few hours am I out of the loop on something?
  7. Same here *crosses fingers* it is getting unbareably humid here now ahead of them.
  8. Anyone think theres a chance for West Scotland, round the Clyde area, this humidity has got to go I'm going insane. I can't make head nor tail of trying to work this crap out myself - I'm not that good yet hahah. Break or make my heart people!
  9. Warm, muggy and grey, low grey cloud like yesterday and the day before. Grey Grey Grey. FML. Too muggy wouldn't mind if it was sunny but it isn't.
  10. Elliot Minor was stunning last night, what a day, what an epic day! The more times I see this band live the more I love this band. I think I fell in love with The Misson District as well. Can't wait to see them next week in London. On other notes passed first year of uni! Exam results came back! A in Biochem, A in Med and a B in Genetics. Minus of the day the weather here is crap, everyone else has blazing sunshine or storms as we have dark grey nothing. nothing just dark grey nothing. FML
  11. 1. The forum would die. 2. Everyone would go outside to take pictures etc 3. The forum goes back on line and everyone comes on to freak out and starts posting all their pics 4. It kills the forum and the admins have a stress related panic attack as angry forum users discover their home locations and decend upon them with torches and pitchforks.
  12. You SURE thats the UK?! Those shots are amazing! The storm structure alone and the funnels are just divine!
  13. Not sure iof this has been posted yet. A lightning strike killed 16 cows which were sheltering from a storm in a field in East Lothian. A neighbour saw one of the animals being struck as they stood under a tree at Saltoun House Farm, Pencaitland, on Sunday. It is thought that the lightning conducted through a puddle to kill the other cows. Farm manager Jim McDougal told the BBC Scotland news website he had been "very upset" by the "freak act of nature". The 60-year-old said he and his daughter Alison had gone to the field after being alerted by the neighbour. The beef farmer said: "It is a shocking thing to see. I felt numbness, it was unbelievable. "They were all either sitting or lying where they had fallen in a regimented row. I have never seen anything like it in my life. "The cows were singed and we could smell it in the air when we arrived. "I am very upset, but it was a freak act of nature so there was nothing I could do about it." His wife Elizabeth said: "Jim could not believe the carnage he saw. "A man down the road saw a cow being struck by lightning and then the vet thinks it conducted the lightning to the other cows as they were standing in the same puddle under a tree." A vet from Haddington took blood samples and confirmed that the 18-month-old bullocks had died from a lightning strike. Link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinbu...ast/8100953.stm
  14. WAHAY MY FAV ROAD! The road from Helensburgh up to join there, the traffic lights are a pain in the but. But My God that is insane! Holy Crap I was driving along that road this morning, in fact we stoped at that petrol station! I've never seen flash flooding that bad in this part of Scotland. Just think 3 or 4 miles down the road from there and we haven't had a single speck of rain at all.
  15. Theres a big shower sitting right at the edge of town, and it wasn't moved in hours, FML we haven't even had a drop all day just sunshine with huge dark towers to the East of us. I think I might move to America, claim it as a year abroad.
  16. Not a freaking drop of rain in Helensburgh.,...FML
  17. Bugger! Anything that develops is going to completely miss me, winds in the wrong direction *headdesk*
  18. Big cells going up to the North and East of me, can make out a nice anvil to the south as well. Lovely to see some convection going again.
  19. It's The Doctors fault! I knew the lack of storms around here was not natural I knew it! I at least want some rain here after all this dissapointment but that doesn't look like its going to happen. The whole sky is completely still not even the movement of a leaf in the tops of the trees.
  20. Thank god for the swear filter. My pain is not funny. I'm in emotional distress over this. Its one big ass shower on the radar though I wanna see how heavy the rain is in the core looks like it might hit me head on.
  21. Thanks Im checking out the models for tomorrow and trying to make head nor tale of it. Ugh I wish I had the patience for this crap.
  22. I would kill to chase, would have booked a place this year but the dates fall in my uni exam time FML. The world is against me seeing a storm. It's a telephone boxing conspiricy!
  23. I saw a distant storm I think it was the 1st of June just heard distant rumbles so technically I'm out the club already. Havent seen lighting in well over 3 years now. I NEED lighting before I go crazy. UGH FML oh well, whats another few weeks hahaha. It has gone very erily quiet here though. The garden needs a good drenching hasn't rained here in weeks now.
  24. *PRAYS* please please please I haven't seen lighting in over three years please please please damnit gonna be watching the radar like a hawk now...I'm sat beside the window flicking between the two haha.
