  1. HOLY CRAP! They are amazing shots! Looks like your all having awesome fun out there!
  2. Thank you for the screen caps! Stupid uni and their slow crap doesn't allow streaming *weeps* This is getting exciting now!
  3. That was the last storm I had! That was stunning, it was right over head of me. We lost power and everything, I honestly thought it was the end of the world. There were a strike about 100 meters from my house and the entire building shook with the boom. I supose after a storm like that I don't deserve one for another couple of years.
  4. I'd give you stats but the uni weather station has crashed again, possibly when the whole internet service crashed for the uni. However its nice and sunny outside, had a bit of drizzle earlier today but its cleared up. Calm, not that windy but a bit on the cool side.
  5. I can't remember a year really where we've had thunderstorms before August much, August and September we do alright in, that is if we get any where I am. Great, I commute between the two places in the country with the lowest thunderstorm frequency. Sod this, anyone have a door step I can sleep on?
  6. =[ I'm thinking of packing up and moving down south. I love Scotland but the lack of storms hurts my heart. Blah I need to find someone at this university that likes storms, has a car and can drive. Then I shall get a fix.
  7. Edinburgh is a strange place full stop. I guess it doesn't help I dodge between Edinburgh and Helensburgh for uni though. Double the chance of getting missed. I had better be lucky or I might just lose it and jump in to the Clyde. I hope so I'm gonna tear my hair out soon, there have two painful near misses as well. Anything moving north seems to hit the Clyde vally and commit suicide.
  8. If I could drive and had a car I would be down south chasing with every chance I got. The lack of storms is slowly sending me insane. I've stopped reading the convective threads because I know its not gonna happen.
  9. Its comming on close 3 years now since the last thunderstorm I saw. I'm giving up hope.
  10. Oohh that big! How sad is it I had to go convert that in to meters before I could understand it...
  11. thank god I thought I was just being retarded. I thought it was just the updraught that rotated?
  12. Is the whole storm rotating? Because it looks like it on the sat images.
  13. Damn lol! I can't stream anything, the internet keals over between the hours of 6pm and 2am here when everyone is on it. I'm struggling to load the forums at the moment alone.

  15. To be honest they need it we really don't as much. It is literally a matter of life or death there. Would be nice, but not needed in reality and that will always win.
  16. Wh000 twittering storm chasers - this has made my month. *hugs TweetDeck*
  17. The last storm we had there was New Years Even 2007, loud thunder, didn't see any lightning however the trees in the wood behind us, my garden and my neighbours got rearranged. Pretty sure it was tornadic damage my friend swears on her death bed that she saw a funnel and the trees in the wood behind that were knocked down were lying in opposit directions. I supose I don't deserve a storm for at least four years after that.
  18. The pictures of the snow flakes were just amazing <3
  19. Completely unrelated but my friends kinda furious, her Fall Out Boy show (which is at an open air arena) in TX has just been cancelled due one of the tornado warning. Apparently the whole things in chaos and the security have no idea what to do, in her own words; "screw this crap I'm getting in my car and getting the hell out of the warning area."
  20. The explanation of heterogeneous nucleation on the show was pretty damn good actually, even my mum got it and considering it took an hour for her to understand that light travels in a straight lines that’s pretty damn impressive. Looking forward to the next one.
  21. *weeps* I need to do this, I have to go storm chasing in the USA, damnit! I'm not eating this year to save for it! *stomps foot* I wanna gooo!
  22. Warm and very very hazy. As it has been for the last four days. The last four days would have been a scortcher had the sun been able to burn though the haze.
  23. I haven't had a storm in over two years now. I can't remember what thunder sounds like anymore.
  24. Oh I do hope so! *hugs twitter* storm chasing and twitter that would make my life complete at the moment!
  25. Cold! Though I think that may have something to do with the change in location from Helensburgh to Edinburgh, I know the east cost is colder than the west but jeeez! Last year I never wore a jacket out at all, I was fine in just a hoodie but man this year, a hoodie a jacket and scarf and it was still cold. The snow was welcome as well; snow lying on the city center of Edinburgh was a nice sight and an excuse not to go to classes! Not to mention two am snow fights were amazing. I enjoyed it though!
