  1. Awesome stuff!!! Here we have atleast 4-5cm, thick carpet covering everything!! , The most snow iv seen here since February 2006, and this event easily beats Mondays by a clear mile......and a bonus......wasnt even forecast this amount of snow, rather NO snow by morning due to it turning back to rain......how cool is that.

BUT, is this going to be short lived. Is the snow going to melt in the oxford/Buckinghamshire/Reading areas???

Is rain going to wash it away later in the day?....(i hope not!!!)

    :):):):) !!!

  2. The sky has the same orange glow about it here too; trouble is, nothing falling out of it just yet regardless of the radar.

Just updated by the way to show a whole load of sleet south of my postcode. Just to remind people not to panic about this as it's using old GFS data; but still, grim viewing really.

OOOH is it using old GFS data? Wikid, i was worrying, because im right on the brink of the sleet line lol! :cc_confused:

  3. One more thing to add - someone on the other thread has made a VERY interesting point.

Apparently Wiltshire only had a 30% chance of snow according to GFS/NW, so the forecast was for sleet.

With this in mind; I think we can disregard the GFS at this point and stick to nowcasting. Looking very promising indeed for many areas

Yes, the same goes for me! 20% - 30% chance pf snow through out the night, and guess what........HEAVY SNOW now falling!!!
