  1. Well the 12z was better than the 6z so were going in the right direction!

    M4 Should be OK.

    Ok cheers, music to my ears haha, erm, current temp here is 0.1C and falling. Much of the snow has melted away from roads and footpaths and turned slushy and icy, leaving very dangerous and slippery conditions, although on the top of my shed and in a 'part' of my back garden theres a thick blanket, 5-6cm deep and drift against the fence of 8cm deep if only it stuck everywhere else lol :rolleyes: , looking forward...once again... to sunday/mondays event, I just hope temps stay low this time for snow to definatly be a factor, instead of turning to a type of sleet and drizzly rain...

  2. Dont know if anyone else has noticed, but the Net Weather radar seems fairly inaccarate when judging pnt amounts. my area has been in and out of reds, yellows and greens for much of the night, this should indicate, at times moderate and heavy snow.

    Yet very, very little has fallen. not even a dusting. Would I be right in thinking the radar is programmed to show what is expected to happen, rather that what IS actually happening.

    I really hope not, i didnt pay for the radar for the expectations lol, i don't think it shows that anyway... :lol:

  3. I know how you feel. We did have some earlier tonight which gave us a layer over what was there before. But on roads and warm areas (I can't actually see any roads but am guessing based on the admittedly fairly warm paths I can see), that new layer is pretty much faded away now. Both you and I should have been in the heavy ppn area on the 6z chart, so to have had so little is an amazingly poor effort by the gfs.

    Hopefully it's just late. There is stuff coming up from the channel, which will hopefully give us a bunch. And if the return of the ppn south eastwards is slow enough, we could still do ok I suppose. But totals will undoubtedly fall short of what I was expecting.

    Yeah, a really strong band pushing up now, thing is, is that the main band?? , the BBC suggested that the main band was here ages ago, there is also precip to the north which has gone around us, but this does sink south though?

    Really, from the looks of it now, councils have shut schools for no reason........severe weather warning....erm naaaaa lol

  4. Oh wow, would have been wise to put GRIT on the roads, especially the hills.....just listening to my local radio station and motorists trying to get up the hills are ending up sliding back down again and hitting each other!!! People are also abandoning their vehicles because they can't get up through the hills AND many of the roads coming INTO Aylesbury are closed or blocked!!!! What chaos LOL!!! :D:):)

  5. REPOST - Lost Amongst All The Other Posts lol

    Awesome stuff!!! Here we have atleast 4-5cm, thick carpet covering everything!! , The most snow iv seen here since February 2006, and this event easily beats Mondays by a clear mile......and a bonus......wasnt even forecast this amount of snow, rather NO snow by morning due to it turning back to rain......how cool is that.

    BUT, is this going to be short lived. Is the snow going to melt in the oxford/Buckinghamshire/Reading areas???

    Is rain going to wash it away later in the day?....(i hope not!!!)

    :):rofl::):D !!!
