  1. I've always laughed at us being a cashless society. Two more companies have card glitches.Either shut or begging for cash to keep functioning. No pun intended but I think the penny will drop soon.
  2. I'm always a bit weird at this time of year.Fishing has finished..work hasn't properly started..but I'm allergic to being indoors..not up to top notch plant price haggling so I tend to drive aimlessly about using.petrol but achieving absolutely nothing lol
  3. Customer Service at its finest..lorry with grabber 3 hours late...went to get straw bales...they had none..was promised short wait for them to be delivered to customer with a call to me.No call but they've dumped them in the neighbours car port. All good stuff...and yes...I phoned regularly for progress reports.
  4. jtay can always run plant purchases by me years of making contacts.Got bareroot Portuguese Laurel best priced between 80 and 120 for 53 quid new contact very impressed
  5. surreal...last day fishing...mind wandering..peaceful...suddenly a lone female head wearing a pink bobble hat drifted past...had I lost the plot...no other female heads followed...How's the fishing today they called as they floated past.Thank god it was the wild swimmers club but I still need some beers tonight to calm my nerves
  6. Ordered a truck with a grabber today to clear big compost area.Flat fee...300 quid.Hardly anywhere sells single bales of straw either.
  7. I'm working on its proper name but I've got a pink spiked flower,it's perennial, and attracts more bees than the cast of Zulu can't put it in tea gardens ect as the bees go after the cream teas lol
  8. Second Indian head massage today. No totem pole,no war dance which was a shame.Very relaxing, oils left my hair like Boris Johnson, but unlike the first one I had I stayed awake, last time asleep for 23 of the 30 minutes lol
  9. With heavy heart I cancelled fishing to start planting Summer bulbs.Glad I did make a start but fishing season finishes Thursday so a tricky decision.Much smaller bulb order this year so probably 2 short planting shifts will sort.
  10. It might not be game over.If it's to survive then it will send some shoots up from around the base.Could give the area near the base a gentle scrape. If its brown underneath a bit of a worry if green then in with a chance. Is the soil from where you dug footings out lol looks dodgy
  11. Im tough enough Dorset to go into such places but what of the Polar Bears they are being moved to Bed and Breakfast rooms in local hotels.
  12. Be prepared...frightening warnings in the papers.Once in 250 year snow event.Winchester will go missing, the New Forest may never recover, over 20 Polar Bears seen in Mrs Miggins Tearooms on Bournemouth seafront,I'm fine,200 toilet rolls purchased,100 loaves of bread. If the Met Office say it...we believe...right lol
  13. jtay send their details I will send a refund. Its weird though, two years ago I bought 5000 Summer bulbs.before end April they were all gone. This year got 450 don't want the pressure of the large quantities any more
  14. jtay I knew Mark Shering really well the previous guy we used to travel from Kent on Thursday long wheel base truck and wheel the full trolleys on.We were able to be very competitive not unusual to take 3k on a busy Saturday
  15. Mainly yes but I'm honest..buy cheap ...sell cheap...sell out..summer bulbs have arrived today. This year our new place has a garden untouched in years so will try to colour it up a bit
  16. No they are expensive lol just got 120 dyanthus for 30 p each be interested in the Salvias My bad...Dianthus
  17. I'm enjoying the cut and thrust of bartering.Delphiniums 2 litre pots 2 quid nothing over 2.50 so far shrubs and all perennials only need a tidy then good to go.Got my eye on some lovely Salvia Hot Lips.Selling on has been made easy by the greedy garden centres and supermarkets. Of course they have high overheads..does that justify a mark up of 5 to 600 hundred percent...no I don't think so either
  18. Gardening for a living is changing.Ok my rice crop is doing well.Watercress is fine. Also free water features.Tomorrow I've got a wet suit, face mask and snorkel, and flippers.Thats only to get me to work lol.In better news my prototype underwater mower is progressing well.
  19. Yes our glorious country lane aptly called Flood Lane is in fine form not only flowing strongly but for added fun filling the numerous potholes with water making driving a real lottery. Will be advising mate alternative route driving in the dark for Thursdays pub visit. For additional excitement round the corner there's about 80 metres of lake/lane that's over a foot deep.
