  1. Of course I do I'm a happy chappie.Recent life events have taught me to enjoy things as best you can. Washing and ironing are traditionally womens tasks
  2. Beware the Sussex Shortwave late arrival normally...normally a wrecking ball
  3. 9th Feb...really important day for me every year.My fortune telling cat Mystic Mog has dusted down his crystal balls and suggests cold weather starting on this wonderful day.
  4. Well that was interesting.Having done the bird survey at home.it then came to me lol.I was mowing a lawn when about 2ft in front of me a Sparrowhawk fizzed past me into the hedge.Bit of commotion and it flew back out again minus any lunch most unusual but lovely to see.
  5. On the basis that fat balls attract Great Tits I started my bird count.Various Tits a few Finches a blackbird Robins and a lovely Woodpecker were about it.However in the previous house masses of Tits but loads of woodpeckers Nuthatches wrens Robins Crows Pigeons lots of House Sparrows. In the first house Yes a few Tits Wagtails but absolute masses of every kind of Finch.Heres the thing these venues are closer than a mile apart yet so different. All 3 had masses of Owls but you could hear them but hardly saw them a bit of a mystery. We did include a single Great Bustard which caused a few raised eyebrows
  6. Well that was fun.Enjoying a long overdue change of fortune I headed off to have breakfast with some mates.A woman blinded by the sun roared out of a side road and crashed into my pick up.Nobody got hurt lots of witnesses buzzing about.I got away lightly by comparison her car was a total write off.5 seconds earlier...5 seconds later...it doesn't happen...small margins eh
  7. River lovely.Light traffic noise drowned out by birdsong.Crap previous 4 months of gloom hopefully lightening up.Love of fishing returns so too hopefully will love of real ale starting tonight lol.A 15lb 8 oz pike made for a lovely day.
  8. Chest waders on today river is still 2ft deep over the banks in places. In other news Loon Forum had to be shut last night.Snow deprivation can drive folk over the edge it seems lol.
  9. At last some time on the river.Really enjoyed it.One lovely chub...but some peace at long last.No named storms to screw things up either lol
  10. 28 1 2004 only time I've seen thundersnow.Followed it's track on the regional.Oxford had it then it continued south.Pouring with rain then no longer noise on the windows. Thunder and lightning in tandem with very heavy snow really was a special thing to experience.
  11. One of those days of great intentions that ended up aimless drifting..need a boot up the backside methinks.
  12. Tough start to the day.Freak gust of wind blew my hairpiece off.Tyson the cat thought it was a rival and tore it to pieces.I now look 40 years older the neighbours are laughing I'm 200 quid poorer and I'm freezing. As I say a tough start to the day.
  13. Good work and well done.A friend of mine does it in Fordingbridge. Also the wild swimming community plus locals are trying to get the status of the stretch through the Recs status upgraded because thousands a year use the area opposite the George for wading swimming ect Bit nervous about tomorrow's storm.Im having my first windsurfing lesson off the Needles lol
  14. I'm being lazy..however...phone rang at 9 45 telling me that gardening chums would buy me breakfast as long as I could make 10 15..place 4 miles away..got there with 5 to spare..its called incentive lol
  15. Throwback to the 50s frost on the inside of the window.Caused an attack of the Night Nadgers which in darkness is scary.
  16. I'm lucky as my 122nd birthday comes in February I still love my work cutting the hours back a bit but often wonder how I worked at Esso head office for 18 years in London before seeing sense lol
