Well after two significant rainfalls the Avon is up 1 and a half feet will rise further no doubt.Will be over the banks by Saturday which creates the dilemma.Do I go fishing get wet for nothing or get wet doing paid work gardening...a tricky one

Being on the river is lovely.However it occasionally opens other of nature's doors.Driving home in the semi dark this evening the trucks headlights picked up this lovely white bird floating gracefully whilst hunting.I Love Barn Owls such beautiful birds.

Mixed day.enjoyable on the river raining but well waterproofed. My team beaten again today relegation beckons.Given home made sloe gin as birthday present.OH hasn't purchased wine...is this hooch safe as a replacement

Missed the rain...tranquil river...Dace..Salmon Parr..Minnows..topped with freshly made pork pie (so better than shop crap) hot coffee sunset en route..how lovely lol

Nice Valentines afternoon tea.Cakes and scones returned home in boxes very filling but very nice.There...men can be romantic lol

Gardening work was fun today.Still the rice crop is coming on a treat.

Nice to report still conditions.No frost with not a hint of rain.Very mild if not on the warm side.Really have to get out of bed.Too old for 2am drinks should stick to cocoa in future.

Today sees my 109th birthday.Snow drought heatwaves hurricanes I've seen them all.50 years in human terms is quite a chunk but in weather terms is nothing.Hopefully things will change enough for today's kids to see some lowland snow before they retire.
