Some light snow flurries here in the past 10 minutes merry Christmas everyone and I have an 14hr shift at the Airport tonight.

GFS12z Saturday night in to Sunday,tends to overdue the PPN charts but certainly some intrest there.

BBC weather forecast just now o TV disruptive snow possible Saturday night, not 100 per cent certain,but did say keep a very close eye out if you have plans And yes that’s my first ramp of the season.

Colder air spreading back south after a few days of less cold. -
Have to admit I thought the milder air would win out(still the form horse)but now having doubts,cold for the next three days at least,but looks like turning more unsettled with some Sleet and snow showers around Saturday,perhaps a more organised spell of sleet/snow overnight Saturday,really cannot go any further,with the models struggling to remove the cold air from most of the UK.

Next Tuesday seems to be transmission day as this current cold spell comes to an end,for how long though?maybe a few weeks,still confident of a cold spell starting between Xmas and New year.Meantime plenty of cold frosty nights and sparkling winter days to enjoy.Maybe a chance of some wintry showers into the weekend.

Yes Dispite what the other side say I think a brief break from the cold around the 7th December is currently the form horse i believe that around Christmas we will have proper cold and wintry weather. next seven days looking dry frosty and getting colder.perhaps a few snow showers for the far east of the region.

Looks like we are loosing the colder air from here FI and time for change,really do think the GFS is under estimating the Blocking,and this cold spell Wii be extended.
