  1. Thanks for the update! Sounding good for me tonight. I don't think I will even bother with Prozac, I think good 'ol Valium and a tot of the Hard will do me!
  2. I am just around the corner from Epsom. Nothing going on here at the moment. Broken cloud and 1c.
  3. At work here the water pipes have frozen! We have no running water or flushing loo! Still hoping for some snow though. Maybe I will be able to melt it.
  4. Morning folks. Just on -2 here, very hard frost and lots of ice! Clouds creeping in and tinged a beautiful pink as the sun rises. Crossing everything in hopes of some white stuff soon.
  5. Oh my! Im not driving anywhere if that comes to fruition! I get nervous going around the round about in icy conditions... lol. Thanks for that much appreciated.
  6. Thanks for the answer. I guess I will just postpone. Rather be safe than sorry!
  7. Wow my head is spinning! Yes it will... no it wont.. I have to drive to Cornwall from SW London on wednesday (I have little kids and am not a confident driver to begin with), do you think I should postpone or is this not to be a SW London affair. Would seriously appreciate any input.
  8. The voice of reason Yamkin! Your posts always bring me a glimmer of hope. Here in SW London area we have not had any snow that has settled really. I too am going to take it by the ''radar'' as even the local metO forecast for my area was showing snow showers for yesterday and today and we have had nothing. I must admit I prefer the lovely crisp cold air with bright sunshine to the dreaded dross from the Atlantic anyday. I'm very jealous of you guys in Kent  enjoy guys and spare a thought for us in the snow starved areas.
  9. Seems the MetO have removed all my snow chances for now, along with most of the warnings for SE area.
  10. I have checked the forecast temps for surrey (sw london area) on MetO and they have my area with a high of 10 for new years eve:wacko:. According to that it would be rather difficult for anything other than rain for here? Im not too good at reading the models (not that it is much help at the moment)! But will the colder air make it down here in the New Year time frame??
  11. Woah! Thats a wee bit chilly :acute:It is -4 here in the SW London area. I was wondering why the metO are forecasting sleet/rain for us on thurs? Wonder if that will change to all snow.
  12. Hi Yamkin... We were supposed to have our company christmas party on Friday, looks like that will have to be postponed as all the guys will be out gritting for the next few days! We also have ensured a surplus of grit is available this winter! Lets hope we get that fantastic Thames streamer in place
  13. Please could you let us know what he says? I don't have access to a telly at the moment!
  14. My loft room has those flip down windows (the name escapes me), but I have been known to stand on the bed and stick my head out of the roof, just to check if it really is snow or sleet! Have a lovely view of the street light from that window as well. Guilty on all counts of lamp post watching.
  15. The gritters in cental London are all on alert tonight, with action needed. This basically means the roads and bridges will be treated. Sometimes they only go in after midnight (my hubby does the footway gritting). I feel for those who have to work outdoors... Im one of them!
  16. Hi all, been model watching for a few years now. Don't post much though. My nerves are shot from reading the model thread and have decided to quit reading it! ;)I am not sure how this cold spell will affect me down here in Epsom, but the meto forecast for my area does not look very promising. Highs of up to 7 and lows of 2 or 3. Does not sound to conducive to much snow . Does anyone know when the met local forecasts get updated? Ta
  17. Very light snow here in Ewel. Dont think it will amount to much, but lovely anyway.
  18. Does anyone have any thoughts for Monday? Could the SE see some more snow? Been very odd here today, snizzle, snow mixed in with heavy sleet and of course lots and lots of rain. Very slushy outside and not very nice.
  19. I was keeping an eye on the MetO forecast for my area for Monday. They had us down for snow and I see this morning it has now changed to sleet and rain. What are your thoughts for Monday? Currently cloudy here after some quite heavy rain.
  20. Morning all. What a snow fest! It is still snowing here and we are up to 20cm here in Ewell.
  21. My back yard here in Ewell, Surrey. Still light snow showers continue.
  22. I think I will just have a glass of red wino to toast to that! My poor husband however has been informed (he is on the grit team) they will have to stay in London as they may not be able to get back in to do the next rotation. I think a lot of people are going to have very messed up travel plans tomorrow.
  23. WHOOO Im so HAPPY. (Sorry for shouting)! 4cm here and -2.5c
  24. Hi Im in Ewell village, when I first moved here and asked the locals about snow depth, I was told forget it, does not happen here. Guess Im blessed to be a part of something that does not happen too often .... Loving this snow at the moment. Coming down really thick and hard for the last 45mins or longer! Beautiful orange sky. Could not ask for more..or could I!
