  1. Had some big heavy wet flakes here... My dog is having a blast trying to eat them, it is the first time he has encountered snow.
  2. Just had a peek at the radar. Does not look like there is to much precip left? http://www.raintoday.co.uk/
  3. Can confirm sleety bits (very wet too), falling on my son's loft window. Have had a look at all the local online forecasts for my area and only TWO are giving me any snow. MetO saying sleet from 9 then nothing after that.
  4. Good morning all. I wonder just how many forecasts and snow risk maps I will be staring at today I did notice that the MetO have gone with slightly higher temps... but of course Im sure it will change. At the moment I have sleet symbols from 9am-12pm. I would be interested in knowing what they have for your areas. Have a great day all.
  5. I am agreement with you on that one, I think it is going to be on the wrong side of marginal for us (my area anyway).
  6. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/news/releases/archive/2011/wintry-and-unsettled Judging by those graphics, it looks like heavy rain for us, or just wind and rain?
  7. Wow those are some hefty gusts. I went through 5 hurricanes in my years living in Florida and I can tell you that 100mph gusts are down right scary! Lets hope the wind warnings go and the snow risk increases! Would you mind posting the link for that Yamkin, I can't seem navigate the MetO page properly for some unknown reason.
  8. As it stands for now, London according to the MetO has a 10% chance of seeing wintry showers. Not very hopeful. I am keeping an eye on this LP system, I don't think anyone knows exactly what it is going to do. Interesting times.
  9. Hi weathergeek, yup Im near the west Ewell Station, nice to see a fellow board member from my neck of the woods. I really am just hoping to see a few flakes, poor lamp post watching window needs cleaning first though!
  10. Hey Yammers! Good to see you again this winter, I look forward to your posts. Do you think we could see the odd bit of sleet in these approaching showers?
  11. Wind is whistling through the windows, some rather powerful gusts here. Does anyone know where I can find live wind readings?
  12. Not sure where to put this! Interesting analysis from Simon. http://www.youtube.com/user/WeatherSchool?feature=g-all
  13. Well that would be nice, but MO going for 13c for the 8th in my location... that to me seems rather mild. I do wish the NO MILD ZONE would just go away for all! http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/se/kingston_upon_thames_forecast_weather.html
  14. This darn pattern is so boring! I think my thermometer has been stuck on 11c for who knows how long. Just give me some frost... ok rant over!
  15. Go to 23 minutes for Piers Corbyn's take on things :winky:
  16. Been rain, rain and more rain here for the last few days. Had a giggle when I saw the rain and remembered some members on here would not have to do any hat eating! At least thats one positive to this mush.
  17. Whoop whoop! Bless you for saying that, you just made my week!
  18. Is there any chance of SW London seeing anthing tonight?
  19. What are you basing this on? models, fax charts??? Would just like to know why you think this.
  20. Such an amazing sight. The center of circulation is almost perfect. Saved the image too.
  21. I just said the same thing to my son (lived in Florida for 6 years and watched enough cane eyewalls on radar)!
  22. Thanks for all your input! I do have a question though. I have been watching the precip literally pass right under my nose, by your above statement do you mean if we have not had snow now we will not get much later on either. Sorry but I just wanted to know if I should keep the kids up or not (here in Ewell, Surrey)
  23. Radar watching here, silly question, but is this approaching band going to head north or pass into central London?
