  1. Thanks John for the posts! I look forward to more. Hopefully, we down here can also get in on the action down the line.... I just hating reading "north of the M4" or "higher elevations". Makes me mad I tell ya
  2. Quick question. I have a Nevada weather station. Since we moved house the darn thing has stopped sending readings from the outside station. Indoor readings work fine. Any advice (besides changing batteries)? I MUST have it working before the onset of Snowmagaddon.
  3. Yuck... that is all I can say about today. Tipping it down. The bus trip for the school run will just be an absolute joy. Let's see how many people drive through puddles and soak my daughter and I. John, thanks so much for the charts and please keep them coming. I just had to escape the insane asylum that is the mod thread. Have a great day all PS coast, you may be developing gills, but I am quite sure I am sprouting webbed feet.
  4. Dang, I do hope the GFS is right.... Do not want any more rain. I think I am starting to sprout webbed feet!
  5. Those forecasts are based off the GFS model output and in terms of reliability that far out they need to be taken with a tipper truck of rock salt.
  6. Actually his grasp on global weather patterns and teleconections is very good. I started watching him in 2004 when I lived in Florida. He does get excited about interesting weather, but he really does know his stuff.
  7. Joe B on twitter Joe laminate floori â€@BigJoelaminate floori Much of US next week awesome nice weather ( still worry about e coast) Dec 2012 globally may challenge Dec 09. UK better get ready too
  8. Agree Coast, I am just happy to see the mention of the words wintry showers, beats the heck out of murky fog.
  9. Weather forecast: London & South East England Day 1 to 2 Day 3 to 5 Day 6 to 15 Day 16 to 30 Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: Thursday cloudy with patchy drizzle, although warm sunny spells may develop across the far south. Friday early rain, then dry with sunny periods, breezy and colder. Saturday isolated wintry showers. Updated: 0333 on Tue 23 Oct 2012
  10. Rather foggy here too this morning. Looking forward to some crisp frosty mornings and of course enjoying all the banter in the model thread. Seems the silly season has started early this year. Have a great day all.
  11. Morning all. Patchy cloud here this morning, the sun is peeking through on occasion and its fairly mild. Hoping we don't get too much rain this week. Have to move house soon and the garden needs a last tidy up. Have a great holiday Coast.
  12. Oh gosh, this thread really gave me the giggles. People with huge fridges that may contain a recently deceased pop icon, snuggling on naughty steps, falling out of trees, storm chasing with weather personalities... Just love reading on here everyday. Rather blustery here at the moment, but all in all not a bad early autumn day. I am not looking forward to the possible deluge headed our way.
  13. I may be wrong but I think Mr. Holmes was referring to this http://www.cloudyskies.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=1347&sid=c59c04c25faaff2683078383d9d53dd6 and not the link I posted? Anywho... Neither of the aforementioned forecasts have a solid scientific backing.
  14. http://www.wsi.com/f4929e77-a7e9-4c8e-8f0a-63dfaa78e708/news-scheduled-forecast-release-details.htm Don't know if this has been posted on here. Warning! Do not open link if you are a coldie!
  15. Thames streamer!!! Of course heavy showers are good too, frontal snow tends to have warm air behind it, or moves through quickly. But I will take anything. Can't be too fussed due to my location.
  16. https://sites.google.com/site/crabtreescompendiumofesoterica/predictions-for-2012-dated-thursday-december-1st-2011/2013-weather-geophysical-predictions ermm, interesting!??? Well the rampers would love this guy to be spot on.
  17. Morning all it is a bright crisp morning here in Ewell 10c. Lovely sunshine and blue skies. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
  18. Mornin all. Good to be back! Rather windy, cloudy and chilly here this morning. Had the window cleaners round in prep for some winter lamp post watching. Hope you all had a good summer.
  19. Very light snow here. Nothing showing on the radar though. 0c and a dew point of -5.1c Enjoy your day all and hopefully we will have some more exciting times to come.
  20. Ended up with about 4 or 5 cm. Hubby just returned from Footway grit duty in central london. Looks like areas North of me fared a bit better. Thaw underway here, steady drip drip. Off to Epsom downs for some fun
  21. Temp up to -0.2c from -0.8 in the last hour. I do see a green pixel creeping in on my netweather radar to my SW Dew point has gone up to -2.3c
  22. Stupid work malarky kept me from lamp post and radar watch. Right bring on the SNOW! Good luck peeps. temp -0.1c dew point -4.7c wind sse 7kts
  23. Kold, what are the odds of a stall right now? Sorry to put you on the spot, but I really am hoping that it does stall over the SE. MetO had light snow forecast for here arriving at 18:00 and the latest update now has it put back to 20:00, so the movement has been slowed down. I think that is good news!
