  1. Temp and DP dropping fast now in moderate rain in Reading. The rain is definitely proceeding the radar at the moment. It's been raining for at least 45 minutes here but showing as clear still for this postcode
  2. Interesting catch up from my Reading Travelodge. None the wiser about Tuesday, but there are snow symbols back in the MO forecast, so I'll go with that. I have plenty of lamp posts outside the window here. Unfortunately I'll be at the mercy of TFL on Thursday afternoon, which is frustrating as I normally work from home, but hopefully it'll be nice to be out in it, even if it's a slow journey home. Everything crossed
  3. No snow symbols at all on the MO forecast for SE12 now, but I know that that means nothing really. Will be glued to the radar and lamppost tomorrow and Thursday.
  4. And that's what makes this period of weather so interesting
  5. Not liking the idea of us being at the extreme end of possibilities, but any possibility is good as far as I'm concerned. Though if it comes off, I'm going to be stuck in Reading!
  6. The line of showers crossing London is falling as rain in SE12
  7. I don't post much, but I read a lot, so I enjoy all the input I get from this forum. Thank you Tom. And thank you for thinking of me. I do get to work from home several days a week, so any opportunity to discovery new perspectives on our weather are always appreciated.
  8. You "War and Peace" as much as you like, Tom. Always a fascinating read. You bring weather history to life and its appreciated. Having grown up in Somerset in the 70's and 80's, I experienced some exceptional winter snow in that time, and enjoy hearing any stories of how our winter weather has affected the South of England
  9. Just watched the 0756 BBC News weather, and they showed the lying snow on the weather map (where there were clear skies). First time I've seen that. Anyone seen that before? Not much to report from it though, apart from its apparently going to be 10C in London on Friday...
  10. I had higher expectations, Tom, but I think we all do. Disappointed, considering how some relatively local coverings have been, but that's weather (and our location) It was nice to see it falling, if nothing else. I'm sure it won't be the last, and I'm still looking to the NW tonight, with hope. We will prevail, Tom
  11. Actual flakes of proper snow! A bit of a mix, but they're definitely there Not expecting much, but a couple of minutes of proper snow would be nice
  12. Temperature and dewpoint down to 3.8C and -1.2C, and dropping fast now. Feeling hopeful for SE London (Blackheath/Eltham) Sunset in 25 minutes!
  13. Following on the London traffic camera network https://www.tfljamcams.net/ (10s loops) It seems to have got as far as at least Richmond/Brentford
  14. That is a fantastic photo! The other one is good too, but I have one of my own
  15. Very heavy rain right now and decent, close lightning in SE London. Nice to see, but I hope its through by commute time
  16. Epic drive to Croydon just now. Vary dark, 30 mins torrential rain and amazing lightning. At least it cleaned the car. Calm now here but sooooo much cooler. 18c according to the car! Looking south again
  17. Well that was a nice 10 minutes of heavyish rain to stand in Loud thunder and some more just to the south. It might be it, bit it feels really good
  18. Thunder getting closer. Just had to put the light on to see my keyboard properly!
