  1. It's been a pretty steady 5 hours of light (occasional moderate) powdery snow now and everything has a good dusting apart form paths and roads. Looks very pretty. Feel for the peeps nearby who seem to be having a different experience. I'm convinced the amount of green space around here helps in marginal situations.
  2. The heavier band is definitely, albeit slowly, moving west. You can easily see it on long radar animations.
  3. Snowing since 07:30. Small flakes but moderate now and settling on trees and garden furniture.
  4. Enjoying the snow reports from the fringes and heights of the region. Bodes well.
  5. Right, going to move away from reading here, have dinner and probably wake up at 4am with a screaming daughter and hopefully full on snow. Enjoy the ride.
  6. That's an interesting take. The MO app changes every 5 minutes or so, but that must be because there are so many numbers to crunch from so much data that it just auto updates with what it knows at the time. At least with the radar it's a generic overview which changes less often. I suppose when it does change its more notable, though.
  7. Beautiful spring like day here today. Hardly a cloud and some proper warm sunshine, and hardly a breath. Definitely the calm before.
  8. Firstly, I don't use the weather apps as gospel, much prefer the human input here, but does anyone know how often they update? Mine seems to change every 10 minutes. Obviously automated, but how can it get such a changing forecast over such a short time period? * Specifically the Meto app
  9. Oh, oh, oh, thanks @Paul for adding locations to the mobile site posts. That'll speed up reading in the next few days.
  10. Have been away for a couple of hours... It's going to be hard to keep up in the next few days
  11. The most recent charts are epic, but my cautious side is holding me back for now. Too much to lose!
  12. Thanks Tom. Good memories of that event in Somerset. Not quite what you had, but was a fun few days, nevertheless. This is the only photo I have from the day!
  13. I find myself just sitting here waiting for the next qualified post about the next model runs. I'm not sure I can take this for 4 days!
  14. A lot of people use their phones and the location doesn't show on the mobile site.
  15. Still a frost on everything in SE12. The wait is agony. It's our daughters first winter and can't wait to take her out in it.
  16. Have a 1 year old to bath and bed, but just to say, forget the every changing auto forecasts. Get your face to a window from mid morning tomorrow, and have some hope. No forecast will predict this now. Nowcast for the win. Good luck everyone.
  17. What's crossed Central London into SE12 is just a few spots of light rain. Definitely evaporating before it gets to the ground.
