The event last night certainly delivered, and produced some of the best snow fall in many years-
Heavy snow started at 3:30pm and lasted until 4am (moderate after 10pm), the snow piled up on the 5cm of snow allready on the ground, but it took longer on snow free ground, by 7pm the roads have around 3-4cm of snow on them (bear in mind this road is busy), while paths in excess of 10cm. Throughout the night the winds remained moderate leading to some good drifts, up to 40cm snow especially round the slightly hilly golf course. By morning (5:30am) the snow had stopped, the top layer of snow (1cm) is completley frozen, underneath is the soft stuff, the snow slowly began to melt at around 9am but temps really dive bombed and the water that was dripping of the trees froze instantly (see pics below) so thawing isnt going to be an issue here. The roads in Lower parts are mostly clear, as it melts really fast on the roads but not on paths at all. Here are some pics of what i got, bear in mind i took these pics at 2pm so a bit more was probably there earlier (especially on roads). Also around 3 snow ploughs have gone on my road (never seen them before), which has affected snow depths.
Snow depth list (at 2pm)-
Ground-15.9cm
Drifts- 35.3cm in back garden, golf couse, 50cm plus
Grass-20.2cm
Front on curved part-23.4cm
LBA-28cm (on runway). Also LBA is exposed while i have many trees walls etc stopping high depths.
Table top-17cm
PICS BELOW (NOTICE HOW THE WATER DROPLETS FORZE)
