  1. BIG NEWS GUYS - 3 gritters been past earlier, and finally after waiting long the snow has finally settled on the roads, i live on a busy main road so this will more than likely mean wide spread disruption across yorkshire tmrw morning!! This is a big-ish deal because i must have 3layers of grit now and yet it has still settled!
  2. Whoa Jinx, was just about to post a link to millenium square http://www.camvista.com/england/other/leed...uare-webcam.php !! Are there anymore for Leeds ?? Can only find one
  3. OH WHOA, that could give some proper snow fall, will defiantley add this to favourites! Edit: it appears to have hit the eastern coasts of Yorkshire http://www.sat24.com/
  4. looks like South east enlgand and Yorkshire getting the most snow tonight, really piling up here with some in yorkshire reporting blizzard conditons !!!
  5. Who knows, admitidley i dont actually live by LBA i live on the oposite hill (highest hill in Leeds) in a highly suburbnised area, still 210m asl though, drive up to cookridge tommorow if you can, or if you can go by train catch the train to Horsforth and walk past the bridge and just keeping walking up hill, mark my words there will be a signifiacnt difference in snowfall amount! P.S- Im looking down on LBA im that high up, its just easier for me to say LBA as you know where i am!!
  6. latest beeb forecast they said "particulalry heavy snow east of the pennines" for tonight. Tommorow night they said "heavy snow piling up east of the pennines" Looks like the best place to be in UK is east of the pennines and south east enlgand !!
  7. Got about 2cm here on ground  , snowing on and off mostly moderate and moderate sized flakes , but is it enough to cause disruption for tommorow mornings rush hour? Also anyone in Leeds (close to the city center) got a covering? As normally close to the center of leeds there is no snow while higher up there is loads more.
  8. Okay maybe i was saying that so somebody would say i would get loads  ! Anyway does raintoday.co.uk work for anyone it wont work for me, meto radar is a bit crappy, any other good radar websites out there??
  9. No idea just use raintoday.co.uk they use google maps (not working for me atm)
  10. Defo the case, unfortunatley we will probably get no more than a dustin
  11. I doubt i will see any lying snow here tommorow morning  . What is ment to be happening with the showers?? beeb shows showers in North East but nothing on radar (cant access raintoday.co.uk but can acces meto radar), are they meant to kick in early monday morning?? Hopefully so, i will be a lot more hopefull. Maybe its because its getting dark?
  12. Aaaaaargggghhh sick of this on and off snow that doesnt settle at all , why cant it just cluster together for a prolonged period of snow!!!!! On a plus note, i have a "be prepared" warning from the METO "Heavy Snow & Drifting Snow", too bad you guys dont have one in North Yorshire, aaah well
  13. had some big snoflakes earlier now some very heavy hail type showers covering roads paths etc, gritters gone past and it settled still! Stopped hailing now
  14. Not looking too bad atm, been snowing on and off lighlty (sometimes moderatley) all day, hoping for some real heavy snow showers before it gets dark.
  15. Wen to Asda to day (215m asl) and was extremely busy, unusually so, even busier than christmas!! According to the manager everyone is "panic buying" because of all the snow expected  , pretty remarkable, looks like news has spread!!! Any one one pannicking where you are??

  17. So whats the deal with them showers, aee they going to extend northwards?? It looks as if i will be getting the northern edge of the showers <_< Setting ??
  18. Snowing/Hailing moderatley atm the snow flakes are very small, the wind has picked up causing poor visability Whoooaaaa-Latest beeb forecast said up to 30cm of snow for Yorkshire on Tuesday Night, he also said this would be an extreme weather event!!!!
  19. Update; LBA has completely dissapeared from view due to snow, must be very heavy there atm not heavy here though
  20. Snowing very lightly for last 10minutes, temo rose by 0.3c when it started snowing, 0.9c atm. Tonight: Cloudy with further outbreaks of snow, heavy in places with some drifting likely, especially over hills. Very cold east to northeast winds persisting. Minimum temperature -2 °C. (met office Yorkshire) Sounds good to me
  21. Heheheheheeh, might not say West Yorkshire but my location will more than likely see the same amount as East Yorkshire, Yorkshire really is the capital of snow (excluding Scotland )
  22. How's it looking for LBA Airport?? It seems good, but im concerned that the snow will turn to sleet during Tuesday because of this mild sector, or am i too far north for it to affect me? Edit: This topic shouldnt include Northern England as there is a NW Engalnd topic as well, making it confusing for some as there are two areas that you can put posts in
  23. 9.9c!! Quite high considering how north i am and how high up i am
  24. Am i the only one that finds the snow forecasts totally un-accurate and not even worth looking at?
