  1. What about thurdays event???? http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/yh/...t_warnings.html
  2. I do think the "take action" warning is a bit over the top, it should really be the "be prepared" warning as nnothing heavy is likley to hit west Yorkshire, hopefully im proved wrong!
  3. Could the mild sector passed over us and now and gone?? My temp dropped from -0.3c to -0.4c since 10:49pm and has stayed at -0.4c my dewpoint is -0.7c (dropped 0.1.c at same time as temp dropped)  B) B)
  4. Getting close to marginal here  , temp drops by 0.1c around every 1hour30mins, current temp -0.3c with a dew point of -0.6c, snowing moderatley, with about 10-15cm on the ground, latest look north forecast paul hudson said the percip was a lot lighter, but he emphasised the fact that the meto were going for heavy snow, and only the meto, trying to cover his back so he can blame it on the meto  . On the Leeds Center cam they showed live he said it was a bit sleety but all i saw was moderate snow (a bit wet), with a moderate covering (5-7cm) but not clear as cam high up.
  5. Important- very intresting Look North atm, Paul Hudson talking about a "classic scenario, with cold air flooding up the snow band", the worst is yet to come with the percip "intensifying over next few hours", and expect widely another 10cm of snow over "York, Leeds, Sheffield etc" he also said "expect, above 200m a foot of fresh snow falling later in the eavining". He did say though that it would turn to rain on the coast, but that was expected. Also i would imagine the snow line been east of York, so pretty widespread. <FONT size=5><STRONG>
  6. been snowing moderateley for last 2hours but its this very fine snow which doesnt really do much, even though its continuous it doesnt pile up very well <_< , anyone who has netweathe radar what is the current situation, thanks.
  7. "There is a high risk of an extreme weather event affecting areas above 200 metres and in particular the Pennines." meto
  8. Latest beeb forecast showed a bit of snow around 6pm coverng peniines eastwards, but as the night went on the snow area increased a lot and started to extended outwards, even more thurther south, hopefully looking good
  9. Well if we get no more tonight then a let down, but 10cm of lying snow allready aint half bad if this pulled of i wud be amazed http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/24hr.shtml?world=4542
  10. So where is the warm sector currentley?? I hope it has passed at becoming very marginal for snow, temps rising -0.5c dew point -0.8c not looking good

  12. 5-7cm here , quite a lot on griited roads, snow not as heavy annymore
  13. Not wonderful for air travel, but lba should be used to it, stilling snowing was heavy now moderate! Edit: Heavy again!!
  14. yeah plenty, about 5-7cm main roads are very tricky with fresh settling snow on the ground & roads. LBA has now dissapeared in the snow, very heavy atm
  15. 5-6cm here , we need a few more cm's to get ma school to close , please start snowing!!
  16. Sorry but you are most definatley wrong i would say 1-2cm, this is 10cm of snow (5th dec) and you are no where near even that,, with 5-7cm you would be close to this- Snowing heavy here for past 10mins The pic below is for the reply above "snowing heavy now"
  17. All percip gone of raintoday and meto radar lol an error there (they must use the same satelite)
  18. 5cm of snow here !!! Truly great, perhaps 15cm of snow by morning!!
