The band of storms that passed though the teeside area were very active and produced alot of lightning, unfortunatly for me the least intence part of the band decided to go threw my area. Some's up my luck with storms always seems like it cant miss but somehow it does.
I just got a soaking when leaving Murton near Seaham. Was a few rumbles of thunder but then just heavy rain. Has cleared up now though.
-
Some big showers coming over East Durham, nothing on the lightning chart yet though.
-
Was very black earlier this evening over Peterlee but no thunder, just a period of moderate rain.
-
Very wet here. Looks like there are some heavy weather in the North Sea too.
-
Some very good cloud formations at the moment up here in the North East. Quite a few anvils knocking about.
-
Very good cloud formations at the moment lit be the setting sun, quite a few anvils and some heavy showers. No thunder heard though.
-
Very wild here too.

Rain came down very heavy around 9.00am in Birmingham. Got on train to head north and hit sunshine not long out of Birmingham and then saw some wonderful cumulonimbus with heavy showers on my travel to Durham. The train I was on was terminating at Newcastle as all trains were cancelled from Newcastle northwards.
Still very windy out there now.

Had a period of heavy snow around lunch time. Turned to sleet, rain and hail showers which were very brief so ground is rather slushy now.
-
Saw some lovely anvils in the sunset to the west of me; so looks like there has been something wintry falling over the Pennines.
-
Have noticed that the TV weather has been given a revamp, it started yesterday. Sort of a mix between BBC and Sky News; seems to be a common trend to follow a similar style of map now. At least this weather map is green.

Had some sleety showers moving over Peterlee during the day. Was waiting for the bus around 8.15 this morning and it went very dark, the streetlights came back on. I thought I would have heard a rumble of thunder but we got a brief shower of sleet.
Very wild out there again as the wind has picked up.

Hi there, Channel 4 has launched a new weather website and suspicions about the unusual twist have been answered. The UK has been split into a series of blocks with each block containing a weather symbol and a colour to represent how the weather feels. Channel 4 also have a new weatherman named Liam Dutton who was on the BBC.
The site was launched but the weather after the actual news is still the same; I guess it will change soon too.
To check out the site, check out www.channel4.com/weather

staplehurst well done with your first broadcast

Seems that rain/storm has moved rather too quickly I wonder if we will get anymore.
-
Could see the flashes of lightning to my east from that cell.
No wonder it poured down that was directly over me
-
Would be great to have some of natures own fireworks
-
Yeah I remember the thundersnow of last November.
-
As soon as I heard that thunder it has cleared can see the stars and fast moving clouds; still warm though
-
Rain stopped unsure if I heard thunder though
-
Torrential rain at the moment. Very mild out there, almost balmy for early November.
-
Starry skies overhead now
-
Lightning mainly flashing over the sea from what I can gather
-
Oddly it looked like a storm that you would get on warm summer nights, instead it happened on a chilly autumn night.
