  1. This is like a carbon copy of last night, even the snow intensity is similar. Just hope the snow isn’t too wet in the morning again.
  2. That’s good, it would be nice to drop below 0. The snow that fell last night was very wet by this morning and in complete contrast to the other week when the snow was powdery and dry. I suppose it shows how decent a winter it’s been so far, that I’m now getting fussy.
  3. The radar in the last 30 mins or so looks as if it’s showing the main pulse of precipitation starting to move in a more northerly direction rather than north easterly. (although this might just be wishful thinking).
  4. Yeah it was a bit of a late one last night and potentially tonight too hopefully. I can remember the days when at late one involved the pub. Anyway fingers crossed most of the country can get something out of Christophe.
  5. I hope not! 101 and Blighty promised at least 61cm. It is amazing that although the models have come on so much in terms of accuracy that even 12 hours out from weather events like this and potentially tomorrow, there is still so much confusion involved.
  6. Haha, we need to get Blighty on for a guest appearance tomorrow. Disclaimer: If he has changed his forecast he needn’t bother though..
  7. See that 61cm of snow that you were talking about earlier. Did that include tonight’s snow or is this an extra bonus?
  8. I think the fact that there could be snow on the ground for a good part of central and southern Scotland tomorrow should help keep temperatures a fraction lower than what might have been otherwise expected and would also help a little before the precipitation moves in. Every little thing helps when there are margins involved.
  9. It was sleety rain for most of the evening but turned to snow in the last 30 mins or so. Might not be long before it starts to stick with you too.
  10. Trying to settle at this end mate. Sticking to grass and cars.
  11. Hopefully you’ll get to experience Edinburgh in an East Northeasterly with -10 uppers before winter is finished with us.
  12. We need to get the 101 resort open for the weekend sledging!
  13. I’m not greedy, I’d settle for 59cm as long as it’s powdery and dry.
  14. Sorry about that, no sooner than I had posted a little ramp, Mr. Frost came along with his Ukmo model and poured cold water all over it.
  15. I watched that too, completely different to the bbc forecast. Kind of skipped Wednesday night/ Thursday and went straight to Friday and saying Friday was when the real cold air arrived.
  16. I think lower lying areas have a chance on Wednesday/Thursday too. The way the low sits in the North Sea with the colder airmass undercutting the precipitation, looks ideal for quite a lot of the country. Just watched BBC reporting Scotland forecast to see if they would mention it and they did and said that snow could be a problem by Thursday with very snowy graphics and no real mention about the marginal side of things. The forecaster even mentioned snow to low levels around Edinburgh tomorrow night into Wednesday morning as rain in the south bumped into the colder air. Ok, that’s my ramp over. Probably jinxed it for me and 101 now.
  17. Looks like it’s just been a 2 day milder snap and back into the colder weather. The last couple of winters it’s been the other way about.
