  1. Oh she’s done the uni bit, graduated and is well into her career now but I don’t blame her for not rushing into her own place. i wouldn’t like to start on the property ladder with prices like they are now
  2. Thought I could have worded that a bit better. Ones enough for me as well, the other one keeps threatening to get a place of her own but knows that there’s a big difference between paying a bit of board and a lot of mortgage.
  3. I and you’ve had nearly 13000 more things to say for me, living with two women it’s understandable I struggle to get a word in.
  4. Nowt much to say about the weather other than it’s crap but just realised that it’s 10 years today since I joined Netweather. any excuse to open a bottle of red I suppose.
  5. Horrible couple of days. i can’t wait until I can see the back garden in the daylight and whether the annual expense in new panels has started early
  6. Aye full blizzard conditions here. sorry wrong thread, that one was waiting for when the Daily Express worst winter for a gazillion years headline finally comes true. damp, breezy and pretty mild is the one I should have used.
  7. Just seen a gritter but as per usual around these parts it had plenty of flashing lights on the front but nothing coming out of the rear. it is a bit on the coolish side though so I suppose it’s the thought that counts.
  8. Sorry but the best on offer is another 4 months of members trying to pick out the model with even the slightest indication of something white and selling it like the next 1963 is on its way. its winter but the only sure thing is that the dark nights are longer, the light days shorter and the rain is just as wet but colder. We’ll just have to grin and bare it.
  9. Some sleet on the windscreen going to work first thing this morning but nowt but cold rain since. a thoroughly miserable day unless you like that sort of thing.
  10. Yeah we can save the kiddies school chair for Mocki. it’ll be just rain down there
  11. Just made it 7. Carry on like this and we’ll need to be getting the emergency chairs dusted off.
  12. Shame it didn’t stop the local idiots having a week too late firework display.
  13. Not ideal weather for shed roof repairing but it’s done now and what bit of snow I had has now pretty much disappeared but as others have said, not bad for October and certainly a complete opposite for the warm conditions of last year. anyway we’re off to Liverpool for a long weekend shortly so hopefully tomorrow’s North Eastely can bring some cold sunny conditions to be out and about in.
  14. Snowing lightly here and settling on the decking so it must be due on your side of the valley. I don’t keep records but it’s the earliest first snow I can remember for quite a few years and after yesterday’s sunshine certainly a surprise. Just typical though as I wanted a bit of dry and warmth to sort my shed roof out but it still needs going.
  15. It’s going a lovely colour of black far too early now. light evenings, great while they lasted but a long dark slog is on its way now.
  16. Thanks mate, feeling a lot better now. I must have felt crap, not a drop of alcohol throughout the weekend although after the ale trail the weekend before and with a couple of days in Liverpool coming up maybe a rest from it was a blessing.
  17. There should have been a warning in our house over the weekend although I felt like crying at times for the wrong reasons. It’s a long while since I felt so much stomach pain but on the mend again now. meanwhile back to the weather, today’s wind has stripped most of the leaves up here along with a sizeable chunk of the roofing felt off our summer house so that’s another job to add to the increasing list. at least this weekends colder spell should mean that my last grass cut of the season has already happened, unlike last year when for the first time ever, I cut it in November.
  18. It’s on its way now thanks but a nasty little sod while it lasted.
  19. After a misty coolish start it’s turned into a decent days weather up here and certainly better than the BBC forecast which showed plenty of cloud over the region. its just a shame that i’ve come down with a bout of something dodgy otherwise a few hours out walking on the tops would have been worth the effort.
  20. Frosty start this morning but after the mainly cloudy gloom of the last few days it was nice to see clear blue skies and sunshine. a bit coolish though but all in all a lovely day to be stuck inside.
  21. Transport between pubs so hopefully it’s just coach door to pub door I have to worry about.
  22. Rotten day, windy and pretty much constant rain since first light but never overly heavy and it’s certainly not cold. out on an ale trail tomorrow so hopefully the crap will move through and the afternoon will be decent enough for walking between pubs.
  23. Can’t speak for others but not the best of days up here. cloudy throughout with hardly any sunshine and showers on an off since late afternoon. i suppose it is autumn though.
  24. Lovely day, breezy yes and a bit coolish but after two days of cloud when most other parts had sunshine it’s nice to get some payback. time to cut the grass me thinks.
  25. Poor day here considering the forecast. dry throughout but with wall to wall cloud and only a few minutes of sun at one stage late afternoon it felt cool and certainly not the warmth I was hoping for. never mind there’s always jam tomorrow.
