  1. Gone damn dark here but still dry.....not for long though looking at the sky.
  2. Lovely journey down through the Yorkshire Dales today, stopped at Aysgarth falls and then Wensleydale Creamery before calling for a bit of something to eat at a pub on the tops between Haworth and Hebden Bridge. sunshine throughout and temperatures on the car showing into the mid 20’s whats not to like.
  3. What a great spell of weather this is turning out to be and for the first time in what seems like years, a proper winter has been followed by a proper summer. Wedding anniversary so off out for a nice country pub meal now and for a change it may just be eaten outside.
  4. Another brilliant days weather, 21c max here but felt plenty warm enough in the strong sunshine and although the pollen count was very high, my hayfever kept away. Obviously a long time remaining for it to go belly up but so far, late spring and summer 2018 has delivered big style.
  5. Make the most of it mate but wine on a school night, I daren’t risk that one another fantastic days weather though, this year is certainly delivering and long may it continue.
  6. Probably was. i live about 7 miles north of Rochdale and we got over 60mm of rain in the space of a couple of hours from this storm with quite a bit of flooding. don’t remember the thunder and lightening being that excessive though although I was probably to busy mopping out the conservatory that briefly became an indoor paddling pool. the best storm I can remember here was in July 1975 with some serious flooding after over 50mm fell in 45 minutes along with violent lightening and constant thunder. three miles down the valley hardly a drop of rain fell but the river was overtopping it’s banks in bright sunshine.
  7. Fantastic days weather. A few jobs done in the garden, a couple of hours sat out in the sun and now a couple of bottles of real ale to help wash down my tea. And with the next few days looking settled it’s just a shame it’s back inside at work but at least at this time of year we are approaching maximum daylight so no excuse for not enjoy what’s left of the day.
  8. After yesterday’s poor efforts, it’s nice to the warm sunshine back again.
  9. I live just over into Lancashire from the Todmorden end of the Calder Valley and sometimes in spring and summer we get a strong and very gusty wind from the Yorkshire side of the ridge that can last for a couple of days with little more than a leaf rustler a couple of miles away. only last spring I had a couple of fence panels blown out on a day when wind was never mentioned in the forecast.
  10. Damp, misty but fresher start to the day although I’d prefer some sunshine. not expecting much today though with the threat of showers this far East in the region but hopefully things will improve tomorrow.
  11. Leaving on a main road it’s easy to forget how much noise our double glazed windows keep out until the odd time the heat in the living room forces us to open them. now it’s nothing but the noise of thundering traffic along with plenty of rumbles of proper thunder and it’s still damn warm in the house.
  12. Looking at the radar this storm is moving nowhere fast and I am right under the brightest colours. it has eased off a fair bit but is still hammering it down and with the heat and sun trying to come out it feels like the Caribbean.
  13. Dray all day at work but the clouds over towards home looked black and then just before I could get out of the car is started peeeeeeing down. Plenty of thunder now and torrential rain, just hope it clears the air because it’s certainly ruined my plans for the evening.
  14. Sky looked dark and threatening on the way home from work but it’s cleared through now without rain and the sun is out again. A very humid feel to the day though and although I can’t see us getting much in the way of storms here there’s always a chance while it’s that way.
  15. Weather warning for thunderstorms and heavy rain across most of the region on Friday so it looks like any hopes of a better end to the week have gone belly up. I think Eno also mentioned it just now although I try to not get to deeply into an Equator forecast.
  16. Decent morning but along with most, a wet period during the afternoon although dry again now. hopefully this is as bad as it gets this week and we can have a return to some sunshine.
  17. No rain from the threatening looking skies and now the sun is trying its damdest to come back out so my drought looks like it will continue into a fifth day.
  18. Another sunny day here but it looks like it’s going to peeeeeeeeee it down now. cooler than the last couple of days though, only reached 19c after 27c on Sunday and 24c yesterday.
  19. 4 months of this and then an Indian summer and i’ll be happy. i’m not being greedy though, mid 20’s C will suit me fine and they can even throw in a weekly dose of rain so long as it’s overnight during the week.
  20. Nowt wrong with the air up here. blue skies, hardly a cloud and a decent breeze to stir it up, I think you need to leave the Burnley smog mate and head a few miles south up into the hills
  21. Upside down wishbone. I’m quite happy to be outside of the warning area and basking in sunshine but i’ll cross a couple of fingers for you.
  22. An absolutely fantastic days weather here on Sunday and not a drop of rain until after dark which even then hardly wet the ground. just a shame that someone decided to have a full blown rave in their garden, finding ten hours of the crappest music ever put together and then blasting it through a speaker the size of a garden shed. what is it with this obsession that hot weather and loud music must go together.
  23. Nice to come back from a hot week in Turkey to a heatwave here, maybe not just as hot sat out in the garden this afternoon but a couple of bottles of real ale certainly beats what passes for beer over there.
