  1. Chris.R go in and post the snow amounts for Chester and Wigan. then run like hell
  2. Just had a quick look in the Mad thread but gave up after a couple of pages of the usual suspects down south seeing something completely different in the charts that us up north.
  3. Spah1 I hope the charts are right and not the NW 7 day forecast for my postcode which is showing a couple of hours sleet around Thursday lunchtime and bone dry apart from that. on the other hand, the Met app is showing heavy snow throughout Thursday and into Friday morning.
  4. Had Worse well looking at the third goal, Liverpools keeper couldn’t stop a pig in a ginnel bet he’s not tested as much next weekend though when they play us
  5. WillinGlossop the usual suspects in the Mad thread are already doing snow dances to drag it all south and given past experience, I think they’ll end up with it.
  6. WillinGlossop sweet spot right over my head and less than 5 days out out. what could possibly go wrong
  7. Day 10 Met probably put it up for the northwest by mistake. should have been the southeast forecast instead
  8. from the latest Met update Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: Cloudy and windy on Tuesday with heavy rain arriving later. Colder and brighter on Wednesday, then rain and snow on Thursday, possibly heavy and disruptive in places. Windy at times. Not sure whether it’s possibly disruptive as either snow or rain but I’ll take the possibility better get the potential snow shovel out just in case
  9. Iceaxecrampon Scuba Steve should be ok up in Arnside at 9000m but maybe just a wet mix for the rest of us
  10. Spah1 and here’s me wishing I lived at the seaside. anyway I’ll let you know what it’s like although I’m expecting the the south to end up with it all, either that or it pretty much stops north of the border.
  11. Definitely a south is best type of day. drizzle here since mid morning and although the radar showed it clearing away from this immediate area for a while, it certainly carried on. maybe it doesn’t take into account low clouds and altitude but let’s see if the next dry slot ends up being dry.
  12. I was hoping that it would leave it until later but the drizzle has arrived.
  13. Met app for my postcode ties in with the timing of the charts shown although is still only giving sleet rather than snow but it’s a start, that’s until the usual southerly adjustment happens and we end up just north of anything interesting. not the best of prospects for today unless drizzle is your thing but equally nothing overly heavy.
  14. A Face like Thunder yeah it can, we’re getting beat 2-0 at home to Fulham Thankfully it wasn’t my turn for the tickets.
  15. Clearance has finally arrived with a bit of sunshine poking through but still breezy. just hope it’s here for the rest of the day now.
  16. damianslaw enjoy it, it’s been horrible here for the last couple of hours. no doubt next weeks snow will set up either north or south of here but todays rain is happy to line up right across where it was supposed to be dry.
  17. Radar showed our sudden rain in the end but it was definitely playing catch-up. good job the Met didn’t need to issue a red warning for torrential drizzle and severe blandness
  18. Looks like a decent days weather coming up for the region, more so the further north you are but listening to the wind, the mild temperatures will no doubt be tempered by the gusty conditions. a usable day though. edit, we’ll that’s a definite fail on the part of the radar, nothing at all showing but looked out and we’ve got horizontal steady rain, not even drizzle, full blown rain so much for my useable day coming up
  19. Day 10 that’s where it will no doubt end up being. It seems to be a common feature in recent winters for north of the Ribble, certainly high ground getting heavy snow with anywhere south seeing sleet or cold rain. frustrating but definitely a pattern similar to the charts you showed
  20. A Face like Thunder aye it’s a shame you can’t quote like in the old days like you could in the old days
  21. Cloudy but just about dry morning turned into a cloudy but damp and drizzly afternoon. depressing stuff.
  22. BBC forecast mentioned it getting colder next week and talked about snow but then put more specifics on the geography and gave much of England a kick where it hurts by saying less cold here and probably cold rain and this is backed up by the Met app for here which hasn’t got a flake in sight as far as it goes out. can’t beat a bit of cold rain
