Hard not to get caught up in the excitement hopefully will see an true beast from the east can't wait to see the north sea snow machine in full effect being an while. Nice to not have to hear the word marginal for low lying areas or sleet and rain near the coast. So some archive newspapers about Feb 91 and the max in Bridlington on one of them days was -5 trurly amazing to think that now was just to young to remember that spell not expecting anything has cold as that but to get some ice days and 5 to 7 days of lying snow will do me.

Coming down heavier now big white fluffy flakes not settling though apart from on my skylight. Shame ita never snows when we have an heavy frost like we did this morning.

For here Sunday will probably be all rain frontal events here are rubbish unless there already bitterly cold air in place actually looking forward to some spring like weather next week if it stay dry. And Maybe Feb might produce something worthwhile for us low lying area's. Love to see an potent Northerly or North Easterly with snow showers piling of the North sea none of this marginal stuff.

Feb 2012 was very under rated probably because of 2009 and 2010 and Jan 2013. So kind of gets forgotten It was an great spell here didn't it get down to -16 in Holbeach pretty impressive and the first half of the month was sub zero cet only cancelled out by an very mild second half. Better then feeble snowfalls had in last five years.

Expecting nothing but rain here anything else will be an bonus. Last few winters have being dire for snowfall for low lying areas apart from transient minor dustings least seen some snow from this spell and this winter has being better for cold and frost. But being years since an significant winter snowfall last one was Jan 13. Guess was spoilt from 2009-2013 even the good old Northerly toppler from the noughties delivered lots of snow here even it only lasted 2 or 3 days. Still another good six weeks of winter yet so fingers crossed.

Looking like another dire winter here four pretty poor winters for coastal and low lying areas one covering of snow in January which melted by dinner nothing significant here since Jan 2013 now. March 2013 was good but dont count that as winter had an covering in Feb 2015 which melted by dinner. Easterly ain't much good for snow anyway always to marginal more often then not give me an Northerly or North easterly anytime showers piling in off north sea watching the night sky turn that lovely orange as the next snow shower rolls in miss the good old northerly toppler. Think we were spoilt by 2009-2010 and Nov and Dec 2010. Maybe next winter our luck will change? March and April can produce but any snow rapidly melts even if it is cloudy but if so repeat of easter 2008 snowfalls i wouldn't complain.

Hopefully get something out of this upcoming spell not to confident at min last decent snowfall was Jan 2013 had few coverings since then but nothing that hung around long got feeling we will be in dreaded mild sector.

Same here still snowing but getting lighter and looks more of an wintry mix now. Still was lovely to see got an covering and wasn't expecting out so bonus.

Being rain here all morning and jst looked out and it is snowing won't settle but still nice to see didn't expect any flakes here.

Being snowing for about the last half hour now slightest of covering on grass and cars better then nowt. Hopefully see an spring similar to 2008 got an few suprise snowfalls after an another dire winter like this one.

Hoping to see maybe an slight covering for abit early morning Wednesday don't expect much though but any flakes will be an bonus these events can usually spring an few surprises no pun intended.

Compared to cities like Manchester and Liverpool Hull does far better for snow but last few winters have being pretty dire jst to marginal though we got lucky here last Feb and caught an little streamer in the early hours that give us an few cms was quickly gone in the Feb sunshine the following morning though. An northerly or north easterly is best for snow here the latter is the holy grail for decent heavy snow and much better then an over rated Easterly but that's because recent easterly jst havent been that good. But imagine living somewhere like Plymouth or on the south coast were jst seeing an flake in an average winter is hard enough. Most of lowland England and Wales hasn't seen any decent long lasting snow for the last few winters and look at Aberdeen there usually get at least one heavy fall in most winters going by some of the posters there haven't seen an decent fall for an good few years either.

Dunno I think for our location we do quite well for snow we had an good covering last Feb here though it quickly melted by dinnertime. Has being poor since 2013 admittedly but we did very well from 2009-2013 numerous heavy snowfalls. I must admit do miss the good old northerly toppler watching the night sky turn orange and the snow showers piling in from the north sea. Don't expect nothing but cold rain from this event so won't be dissapointed.

Snowing moderately now decent sized flakes got an nice covering at last after jst getting an couple of dustings so far this winter.

Horrible day here rain,sleet, snow jst vile. What i would give for an North Easterly at the min with heavy snow showers or longer spells of snow piling in off the north sea. Us low lying areas East of the A1 have struggled for any decent snowfall so far this winter. Cant grumble to much though better then last winters by far lots of hard frosts and an couple of dustings of snow jst be nice to be an degree or so colder to marginal at min.
