  1. That's it just off here with a covering of snow on grass and cars. Temperature down to 2.2c and dewpoint at 0.8c.
  2. Heavy wet snow shower, started as rain, turned sleety, now full on snow. Temperature 2.7c and dewpoint is 1.3c.
  3. Still wet snow falling here which must be due to the depth of snow affecting the temperature. There's been a lot of melt since this morning but there's still 8cm of wet snow lying. Temperature 1.2c and dewpoint is 0.3c.
  4. Amazing snow overnight with 12cm lying and still falling steadily. Could be some difficult conditions on the roads. 0.9c/0.1c.
  5. The line of showers to the north of glasgow has given me a direct hit. Coming down heavy for the last 30 minutes 0.9c/0.0c.
  6. Heaviest snow of the night for me. Big fluffy flakes 1.1c/0.2c.
  7. Some heavy showers ganging up ready to push into the Central Lowlands.
  8. Heavy snow shower currently giving a nice covering 1.5c/0.4c.
  9. Showers getting progressively more wintery with earlier rain now a mix of hail, sleet and snow. Radar looks loaded with showers out to the west. Current temperature 4.4c and dewpoint 2.9c.
  10. Heavy snow for the last 30 minutes, big flakes giving a covering. Temperature 1.4c with dewpoint 0.3c.
  11. Heavy sleet at the moment with it occasionally threatening to turn more to snow. The temperature has dropped to 2.6c with the dewpoint 1.8c. I'd imagine the hills are taking a pasting just now as I've had 18.4mm of rain/sleet in the last 24 hours.
  12. More sleet than snow now although it looks like still snow over the hills 1.8c/0.8c.
  13. Snow shower has just given a covering. Temperatures have gradually crept up so I wouldn't expect too much more snow today. 1.3c/0.4c.
  14. Colder than I expected this morning, currently -3.1c and dewpoint -4.5c. I've done quite well for snow cover this winter with this now my 10th consecutive day with pretty much full snow in my garden, albeit its getting a bit patchy at the front. A low dewpoint really seems to be the key to reducing snow melt as the temperature has been up at 3-4c on occasion over the last 10 days while the dewpoint has remained consistently below freezing.
  15. Coldest night of the winter for me. -6.1c and dp -7.6c.
  16. Down to -3.5c. Could be my lowest temperature of the winter which currently stands at -4.5c.
  17. Really not sure. I thought was missing earlier but its still got a bit to go.
  18. The low is getting closer all the time. It needs to be taken into account that its not just a front passing through but is circulating band of precipitation. Its looking more likely all the time for this could move further inland than first thought.
  19. Sometimes with such a low passing there are back edge showers that will run east to west. That's the only way I imagine that Glasgow will take a hit as it definitely looks like passing to the west, albeit only by about 20 miles.
  20. Its going to be a so near so far situation for me with the passing low. Hopefully some on the West Coast will get decent snow from it.
  21. That little low is still edging slowly South East but my gut feel is the it will just miss the majority of Central Scotland. The next 30 mins should answer the question.
  22. Always feel a bit embarrassed measuring snow depth but it has to be done. 6cm on the bin lid and counting.
  23. If that stays together someone is getting buried tonight.
  24. Heavy snow here for the last hour has given approx. 4cm. Temp 0.5c/-0.2c. Some parts could get pretty high totals by the morning.
  25. Very heavy snow just now. No need for lamppost watching just big flakes everywhere blowing in on a gusty wind.
