  1. max i see this summer is mid 80s no higher not to much above average for sometime me thinks overall i think for a fair amount of time. future looks like cooling off a fair bit but hey anything can happen on planet earth might even be whiped out by planet x who knows lol
  2. one thing im pretty sure of is theres no need to reflect the suns rays because we dont need to right now maybe in a solar maxima currently where in the deepest minima for many a years. oh dear thats not a good idear right now and in anycase let nature take its own path it will anyway whether man and beast get whiped out or not its going to happen anyway.
  3. there have been a fair few number of top forecasters who there selfs have openly said that man made gw is a complete joke. and there pretty well educated in this field im very much a skeptic i admit, but not very educated in this subject but strongly feel planet earths climate is going to throw egg on the faces of the gw camp (or should i say with help from our sun). im happy to sit back and yes of coarse do my bit on for our planet as i said before theres nothing wrong with a cleaner planet and there are ways of not milking our planet of all of it resources. there is noway you can say thease gw people no anything about how our climate shifts all they do know is its runs cold and hot and this has gone on for the complete lifetime of our earth. ok so do they know how old planet earth is, dont tell me they do because i will wet myself laughing because they dont everything is roughly or over estimated or under estimated. just like temp projections for the future well there not correct already lets wait and see for another few years and how strange that the same people that project this warming also have been suggest a either cooling or stable temp projections for the next few years or more mmm strange. so its not worth anyone saying this planet is doomed the biggest threat is nuclear war or terrorist attack, but i wont do no more for our planet because what will be will be if gw is fact then i eat my hat. i do think it is more likely we are now heading through a cooling period and yes ok then it will warm so thats is what is called a normal earth climate cycle. i think gw is a scam a big political joke. i have noticed that since the 80s winters have become less cold well not hard to answer that. 1. where coming out of a mini ice age. 2. the suns activity picked up and defrosted us lol. and now the sun is having another rest and before long our climate will be once again cold when it wakes up it will warm again. the sun is the one player that has the biggest influence on our planet thats fact. and what ever happens mother nature will do what she will do, and man made gw cant be reversed is that fact no of coarse not because if it does all kick off and most of us get whiped out then the climate will change again then the cycle starts from scratch. either way global warming or cooling will have a effect in the end but my view is lets all focus on warming and forget cooling because its less likely and will have less effect because of warming lmao. funny how cooling climate gets less research than the oposite side after all the usa has not been suffering with extreme cold winters in the last few years and that glaciers are not growing and cold records are not being broken around the world in the last couple of years or more, all this dont matter because where blinded by the man made gw theory we ignore another major threat.THE ICE AGE but it makes no difference because you cant stop that either. and it will happen.
  4. this planet has warmed and cooled for millions of years we have had our run of warming from the 70s just a normal cycle after coming out of the last mini ice age, id like to add, yes it was a mini ice age so flip the coin ok yes warming has happened but we still have a full blown ice age to deal with. ofcoarse nobody really knows why major ice ages have happened. temps have stablised now and dropped back to the average, well so they say but really they dont know what a true average is, there have been warmer periods in earths history absolutely sure of that there, are to many people saying to much stuff and the truth becomes messy. its a chance for the people who rule our lives to make some money there are some that really feel its true there are some that feel its a normal cycle and there and some that think its all over the top. i dont know but im sure im not on the side of gw, but that does not mean its not good to take the crap we breathin out of our climate and that we should have a cleaner planet. but i tell you this when you get a mr nasa predicting a solar cycle like he has then you laugh because its a joke he for one will climb in the pocket of gw alarmist far far to soon to be predicting things you know little about. nasa are lerning this fast, now solar maximium could happen anytime oh wait a minute so could a ice age oh wait a minute we could enter the next super hot cycle. climate change is normal its something that happens lets clean up, but IF its caused by us then hey nature will resolve the problem itself im sure of that. but i think its aload of rubbish and major changes are taking place already with cooler climate looking more likely for now anyway.
  5. excellent post and if landschesdt is right which i have afeeling he will be then he should be the one to listen to, im sure a deep longterm minima will have a effect on our climate so solar cycle 25 is the real cycle to worry about am i right? but this does not mean c24 wont show some kind of cool down but hey this is becoming the most intresting thing thats happened in most of our lifetimes.
  6. dam you beat me to it lol. but will it stay like this that is the trillion dollar question? dont seem to be making many headlines either i wonder if it would if it where to continue for another 6 to 8 months would it start to hit the media. although i dont think its that much to worry about if it where to go through 2009 like this because it would still only be on par with 1913 and i dont think it was anything special back then in terms of climate. although if it where to carry on for years then i would be different surely.
  7. im glad to see that nasa have atlast admitted the sun is ready to do its thing. as for a grand minima of coarse id say its long overdue infact it would not suprise me if a big ice age is in the pipeline for the future well who knows because not a single human on this planet knows. its clear to see that solar activity has a effect on not only our temps but climate aswell although it takes time for things to take effect, but then again it could also go the oposite way the sun could just burst into life and we could all fry. but minimum does at the moment look the most likely. and as for man made global warming this will mean nothing if this outlook does become fact get ya woolies ready or i should say bring back mammoth fur lol. but overall intresting times ahead. and i wonder how many years it takes for a grand minimum to ice age ?
  8. well spring 1917 and 1919 where very cold with deep snow across the country. i was also just reading about end of feb and start of march 1937 once again heavy snowfall rain sleet hail and very strong winds. although since then the climate has warmed a fair bit but never say never because in the land of weather anything can happen. and its also intresting to see a difference in the models predictions west northwest north and east flow so which one will prove correct, i go with nw and fairly chilly but its always possible of a northeast flow to pop up if this happens then it could be game on. cant wait to see what the models think later its getting intresting now no time for arguments
  9. i do agree stormy is always a good start, cold comes after stormy spell more so around the start of spring, and blocking can come into play after stormy conditions but rarely stays for long periods of time, but saying this this winter has had its fair share of blocking and stuck around for a fair amount of time WHEN IT HAD A CHANCE, so there is no reason that within the next 4weeks this could become possible. but then again the jet could be a problem as this can start its migration north early around early spring. although the jet has been the main player in some different weather in the last few years with a southerly tracking jet even around in the summer, so this could be the case even through this spring and summer. but overall i feel the models are now picking up on a more mobile alantic with cooler and unsettled conditions set to prevail but futher ahead could produce something different on the colder front so i take back my milder than average spring for now lol, and sorry of topic because of the strange antics of our jet i feel this maybe a longterm trend building with a change to not as hot summers and colder winters.
  10. oh please lets not get to excited chilly normal march weather on the model front. absolutely no chance of any big freeze wrong time of year for that. buts good to see the models moving along nicely again. glad to see some normal spring weather hopefully we have a warm spring and summer be nice to see the seasons return back to the norm, also good to see the co2 rocket crashed aswell this has got to mean a trend towards colder winters haha    .
  11. yes indeed ive been very critical of the sw events. but cant take away the effort and work thats been put into this forum. ok yes im dissapointed with the fact that this current event didnt really effect us, and im still a little skeptical but i also understand that other climate issues have to come into the picture for this event to become sucessfull event as i feel it may have played a little part in febuary and maybe decembers aswell although im not truely convinced. thats why this issue should always play a part in net weather Discussions. indeed it may not be over yet i hope im proven wrong and i hope march springs some suprises. and if this event is true to helping with colder winters, then also this must be the case for hotter summers, if its proved to be worthy,it could be a good tool for forecasting and like john said outlooks.
  12. still a cursed winter and by far not a 80s style infact im now wondering wether the 80s winters can ever come back colder yes. but old skool by far no. although i do have to say it has been a colder year. but if you take into a regional winter then it was very much on a knife edge, but one thing i have noticed more snowfall was about and even in april2008 we had a snowfall event here on the southcoast which in itself is different. i dont know about you guys but im waiting for next winter already lol. and as solar minima carries on who knows whats going to happen in future winters. i was though dissapointed with our 2day snowfall event here but again that boils down to regional setups if it had been 80s 70s or 60s winter then there would be no marginal as winters where just so much colder.
  13. yes indeed there all brillant post thankyou. there is one in alaska thats becoming more active and has a pending eruption, id love to know more about this one as it was on orange alert. and any other pending eruptions would be great cheers. B)
  14. rubbish not snowing here again in portsmouth not very impressed with winter here but i sopose i join the dissapointed club with a few others its raining but its also freezing lol nothing unusal for us lol
  15. i do agree i apoligise. got something intresting to read here although its not always correct only time will tell. http://www.tmgnow.com/repository/solar/lassen1.html i feel there has been much more blocking in both north and south hemisphere the current blocking in austrailia is standing its ground dragging hot air around with the heat not able to go anywhere, id say its no different that the heatwave here in 1975 or infact any heatwave we have here. as the northern hemisphere has been fairly blocked most of the winter dragging in colder air then trapping it. i think it could be a normal cycle with perhapes influence from sun activity although im no expert so i cant say for sure.
  16. i love your reply so rude and a typical global warming comment rubbish infact. ive herd alot of talk from many top forecasters and even the met office have given indications that future winters will be colder for a few more years atleast. so drivel i think not, i think the last few years have shown a remarkable difference you talk about april well how about april 2008 erm what snowfall on the south coast, well i never see that happen in april in my whole 34years erm october2008 snowfall never seen that in my 34years, and then theres nearly every month since october novermber cets below or average, with 2007 and 2008 being a washout. so do you know the answer to why this winter is just a one off? and your the type to stand up and say low solar activity could never change our global temps? got to remeber theres lots of investigating going on to why things have cooled down and theres loads to get through ie solar activity, reduced gulf stream flow, reduce gulf stream temps, la nina, el ninos, the list goes on and on. thease all have effects on our global temps so is that global warming or is it natural climate change its a simple answer.
  17. yeah i agree great video cheers for that.
  18. portsmouth gets sod all. its turning into a nightmare someone lend me a couple of lorry loads for my garden im depressed winters over here totally
  19. i dont know if im in the wrong forum and in most of the others no one seems to be at home lol but a question is it right that a el nino event means colder uk winters.? thankyou
  20. funny that i just watched a video on bbc news website saying this is a natural cycle and that its possible it could well turn out the next few winters could be cold also before warming again but i do agree its not cold compard to 63 and 80s so that would say it has warmed alot over the year but whos to say this cold cycle is not something to do with solar activity there not very informative about it so that tells me there not 100% sure why this cycle has come around although it does seem to have a kind of trend around every 20years. but also think gw is a natural cycle so where just have to wait and see. be intrested to know which years where as cold if not colder before 63.
  21. well you dont wanna live here then your slit your wrists lol we dont get nothing monday we had 2inches you all done great this week massive snow event for most
  22. nothing here 8c forecast for today winter seems to be over for us some great pictures and if im honest i feel gutted. my kids have seen 2inches lasting 1 day. still living in such a damp depressing winter area like portsmouth what do you expect might get my shorts ready 10c forecast for here this week. love the pictures posted really something special for the rest of the country, i do envy you all. but hey if cooler future winters are on the cards then just maybe as years go on i will get back the memories of the real snow events of the 80s and early 90s.
  23. no snow rain temps 4c at 8.00am looking to rise to 8c maybe even 10c no good news either for us im getting more and more dissapointed with the winter. not taking away anything from anyone else but we have not seen a full weeks snow event for many years and this trend is continuing. this winter wont stick in my memories thats for sure. :o
