  1. Thank goodness the sun seems to be out this morning and I looks set fair for several days. I can’t believe it was actually cloudy and rained yesterday, and for the second time this week!!!! if the rest of summer and September isn’t 30+ and blue skies I’d definitely consider emigrating to the Congo.
  2. Not a bad day here with temperatures about 21-22 degrees, mostly cloud but occasionally the sun would come out to warm the cockles. Mornings starting to get dark and more Daddy long legs making an appearance
  3. interesting day today weather wise. warm, rainy a bit of sun and a few cracks of thunder much more pleasant to work out in today, rained a bit, put jacket on, job done. Now having a beer in the garden with blue sky and sunny. How I love our British weather
  4. Get over it guys !!! Two rainy days in an otherwise fantastic summer. There’s no pleasing some folk.
  5. We do need occasional rain even in the summer just to survive, ask the Australians. Unfortunately rain brings cloud and Lower temperatures but it’s still plesent outside and the forecast looks variable with a bit of sun some rain and unfortunately some cloud ️ still decent weather in my book.
  6. Also did you know that the painted Lady and Red Admiral butterflies actually migrate in Autumn back to Africa I find that amazing.
  7. Yeh, I also like the long summer days but love the cosy winter nights with a roaring fire and pint of vodka
  8. I could definitely feel & see signs of autumn today. The swifts that have been flying high and screeching all summer seemed to have headed back on their long journey to Africa with their young. Also last night I saw several Daddy long legs in the garden and it was pretty much dark by 830 Next thing I’ll be looking for are spider webs on the bushes in the morning, always a sure sign. Bring it on
  9. That’s great. like you I love hot weather, just not the oppressive heat we’ve had recently. If everyone liked the same thing this forum would be boring
  10. 0z GFS and I’m still not seeing any return of the Heat wave we’ve just seen. Temperatures maxing out at 24-25 degrees which is perfect with variable cloud & rain and maybe the odd storm. Perfect.
  11. Frosty I wouldn’t say that was a fair assessment of the 850’s. To me it looks very changeable with +12 uppers only briefly flirting with the southeast. A downgrade if it’s oppressive heat your looking for.
  12. Perfect day today for getting about and working without pi##ing with sweat. Why anyone would want it any hotter than this is beyond me. More of the same please weather gods
  13. The youngest kids start early as we don’t play December and most of Jan as it can get too cold for the small ones. I don’t think watering pitches would be viable with over 400 teams in our league over all the age groups.
  14. However the increase could be just one or two degrees above average temperatures - which are 19C, 16C and 13C for August, September and October respectively.
  15. That’s great that your bookings and salary are up, happy days Obviously 22 men running around on a Sunday morning is a different kettle of fish to 7 year olds when it comes to welfare. I coach for a club in Leighton Buzzard but can’t put on here which one. If I get time this week I’ll take some photos of our pitch, you can literally put your hand in some of the cracks.
  16. Depends what you regard as warm weather ? The forecast even for later this week is for temperatures between 20-25 with plenty of sun around. Surely that’s warm enough weather to get out and enjoy ? Funnily enough I coach an under 8’s football team and we’ve just had an email from the league saying that the season may have to be put back as most of the pitches are hard & cracked and dangerous to play on. Not all out door activities are benefited by the abnormaly hot & dry conditions. Obviously same can be said for water logged pitch or frozen, I get that !
  17. This looks much more respectable, low to mid twenties and a bit of rain thrown in for good measure. Working on a roof today was absolutely blistering so I’m happy to see the back of the abnormaly high temperatures ?
  18. Just for fun of course but certainly on the cold/cool side of the jet stream by the end of next week and plenty of much needed rain showing as well. In fact all the way out to the end of the run there’s plenty of the wet stuff about.
