I am in the process of 'Teach myself how to read weather radars and forecast the weather' I am not doing very well, but I try. It's amazing how much I have learnt since I joined here. My daughter is also addicted, one of us has been on here all day. Thanks to all :lol: I still can't work out if light blue means light snow/sleet and the darker it is the more likelihood there is of snow.

Please excuse me if I seem a bit dim but does this mean that Somerset is going to get snow, especially when that big white cloud over Wales and the one coming up from Cornwall meet? Link which may explain my poor explanation and knowledge

Its been snowing in bridgwater, somerset for the past 30mins maybe, just starting to settle. I hope we have plenty more to come!

I was born and brought up in Churchdown, Melville Road. My last real snow memory is building snowmen on the green and running around the block with the snow up to my knees, that was late 70s/early 80s though. It is quite warm in Somerset now, I fear rain and no snow.

Im in Taunton. Hopefully you're right, wer get snow, maybe worse than what london had. fingers crossed! We had a slight shower thro thee night but nothing special. The temp has dropped here iswell. Ill look out for the update at 11. Thankyou

What time roughly do you think it will hit the southwest? Are we even getting any snow in the southwest? The sky is very dull, with a brown tinge to it..on and off really. But no sunshine or blues sky's to be seen!

It doesn't look as if Taunton is getting anything. I had better set my alarm clock for work tomorrow then. Sorry I can't give anything else to this thread. My weather knowledge is absolute zilch. I look out of the window and that is it.

Does anyone think we will get more snow through the night in Somerset? Taunton area. We have very fine snow at the moment, rather like dust. Thanks.

I don't mean to rub it in but I have never seen such perfect snow since I was a munchkin about 30 years ago. Perfectly soft with a crunchy edge to it, not slippy. Just pure play in the snow, snow. I have just been out in my PJs and wellies.

Lots of snow in Bridgwater which is very rare. It has been snowing more or less constantly for the last few hours.

Thanks :lol: I have noticed that the BBC weather charts seem to show the snow spreading further to the southwest in each weather bulletin. Not a lot happening outside my front door at the moment though.

I have just joined to thank you all for a very entertaining day. I usually have a look on here before Glastonbury festival but have now become addicted to snow watch. You are all great, I just wish I understood. :lol: I have looked at the met office radar and it appears to be white almost everwhere. I am in Somerset BTW and looking at the radar there appears to be white stuff over the sea by North Cornwall and patches of white over parts of Somerset. I still don't know if I am getting any snow, fingers crossed as a duvet day tomorrow would be great. I hope you all get the snow you want.
