If only we could install a giant pivot point somewhere off the south west coast,it would never end. At what point though do you say enough is enough?? 2foot? 4 foot?? 6foot?? I was thinking of packing some snow up and sending it to the south east ,seeing as they are missing out BIGTIME. All the lamposts are having a really good time,really getting in the party mood at the moment. Late night for me as there is no way i can get to work now !!! Snow day, snow day !!

Ice queen, where are you in swansea?? Its already heavy here (near sketty primary school), and for the next hour maybe the radar is showing increasing precipitation, rather like earlier on about 7pm. I think this will white out the roads good and proper up here,and at this time of night with hardly anyone using the roads it could well accumulate,no sign of a gritter at all, but not sure how low this will go. Think it may well be blizzards shortly. Dont you just love the atlantic systems.

The radar is showing intensyfying stuff coming our way folks, this is making up for all the times you had to watch Basing bloody stoke, and all that skiing in Aviemore,..........ARE YOU WATCHING AVIEMORE !! This isnt normal snow, this isnt Marks and Spencers snow, this is top of the range drifting at all levels,deep deep continous snow. We were over due this, so we may aswell gloat whilst we have the chance. Lamposts are having a party out there,and the drink is still in full flow, (moderate,getting heavy, increasing)

There is quite a bit of snow around that area, however, as it would appear its not freezing yet,and the roads still look ok ish. Personally there is no reason for it to close , but some H and S bod will no doubt deem it closeable somehow. Could be tricky if your driving as you may not be able to get up the side of the school (on the hill that is). I think the schools are more positively minded now, and i think it will be open.(60/40)!!

If the next two winters are like this one , the global warming debate will be dead in the water. I remember watching Francis from sky tv and another forecaster (piers or whatever) having a kind of argument regarding long range forecasing the other day. The long and short of it was that Francis seemed fairly convinced that long range forecasting was rather silly, however this other independant bloke talked of solar flares etc. Now if next winter is like this one,then the warming debate will start losing credence and , if the following winter be the same then, well cooling will be on the cards , and another tax will be invented to stop global cooling. Should be good for gas guzzlers.

This is shocking coming from teachers in South Wales. Every effort should be made to open the schools tomorrow. Infact were i headmaster, then i would have you there at your respective schools right now salting, shovelling and gritting the paths, and surrounding areas, to make sure the children of the future are given the best possible opportunity to progress up the educational tree. Just looked at the forecast for here Thursday morning and at 0600 it showed -6 !!!!!!!!!! If that is anywhere near close then , your -12 could be on. Keith may well have to get his £100 out. Early days though .......... You still have the get out of jail free card.

Just done a postcode zoom and the whole area zoomed in on is covered in pink barring a few tiny white spots, truly stunning. Continuing snow,with the front stalling (hopefully) and dumping a full load over the south west and Wales for a change. Basingstoke,Aviemore,all sky reporters.... can you hear us, its our turn now. Tycoch hill ski resort... am renting rooms out starting from £100 per night ,when your tired of skiing all day , relax and sunbathe down in the bay. The all in one resort.... Snow to sunny days within 2 miles. Lampost still going, all be it not that heavy.

Did you see those deep drifts in the fields near your house Jackone?? Good 2 foot when i looked about 7pm,could be 3 by the morning.

Indeed the radar does look promising, i think within an hour it will be heavier here again, but for how long can this stay as snow? Who else from Swansea is still online? whats happening down Mumbles area?? ,ive heard a few reports not just on here that its only the highest areas still gettting snow????

Im guessing its been snowing there longer so its worse? but yes,im sure when sky tv are sending there reporters here there and everywhere that the valleys is the short straw, so they just give it a miss. Just heard a thud and what i was sure was a snowball against my window, however nobody about , and on further inspection a large raft of snow has fallen from the roof. Its always much better when your expectations are at there least. Light to moderate now, cars getting up hill easier.

Interesting wager going on here, i will plump for the -2 side , as -12 does sound a tad low, and unless as well as your altitude you have built a secret Burj Tower , of which you reside on the top floor , then i cant see -12. I was horribly wrong saying there would be no snow today, so it probably will be close to -12 up there.

Just a slush at 295ft? Is that just on the roads? or is that everywhere?? Would seem every 50ft is making a huge difference. Just checked outside as it looked like the lampost was throwing a wobbler and giving rain , but its very fine snow...... How long before height here will make no difference and it gives way to rain?

As you get to the top of the hill, and then start to go down Ystrad Road (that lane , i think thats its name) ,and then go into the first field on the right hand side , you will see those huge drifts i mentioned before. From your pics , i would guess your only a few hundred yards from there. The foot prints you will see are mine lol, however they may even have been filled in by now lol. WHO SAID THERE WOULD BE NO SNOW!!
