  1. Temperature 4c and still rising here. The snow is falling disguised as rain.

When you sober up it might be snow, its only the weather John lol. :)

For places that have rain still you may need to wait till the wrap around part of the front comes back through. Interestingly another stronger part of the band has developed in the last hours with the likes of N.Norfolk and also TEITS seemingly getting some good returns from it.

Northampton to Cambs is right on the southern extent of where it could snow, go further south then that and its likely wrong side of marginal.

Ok Thankyou, well its better than a slushy mess this rain so good news for me.

  2. Just rain all day here, not expecting to much later a little bit to far south

Yes and a little bit too far North at times lol. :shok:

TEITS can we expect anything here later? I'm glad you have snow you work so hard on the model thread and put up with a lot of sarcastic posts, you and a couple of others are the only 1 s I look out for now. keep up the great work please I appreciate your posts.

  3. I'll have a pint of whatever you're drinking. When you sober up you might remember it's only a bit of weather.

What are you on about lol I dont drink alcohol? Hey I couldnt care if it snows or not I just wanted to know the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday because Im driving around my Region on those days.

Edit: I don't suppose you could post me your views on the weather forecast for Tuesday could you? I'm more interested in Football than the weather like you said its only the weather so take the p i s s y out of some 1 else.

Now can you tell me if Newcastle United will get promotion this year thats more of a serious question. This is 1 of your post's and you must have been on the juice when you posted this.... 'I wonder if one of the experts could let me know why the Met Office forecast for tonight is for clear skies over the east coast of Suffolk/Norfolk but the radar shows are large area of cloud heading across the North Sea out of France straight for these areas?' :)

  4. Ok thanks for that so a ever changing situation and a case of nowcasting is likely I see, so until nearer the time I should not take any notice of updates for snow in our Region or downgrades.

A weather forecasters nightmare and guess work I guess, to stick your neck out and be brave to give a forecast right now, unless you are refering to the latest charts. Right thanks again. :)

  5. Just pulled this from model output thread its the current CHAT now.

Just watched the latest weather forecast from the BBC and they only mentioned snow for the far corner of the SE, can some 1 explain to me what the latest model runs suggest because it seems a big downgrade. The Met. Office were issuing weather warnings for many parts of the SE and EA this morning it seems a big downgrade. aggressive.gif

So can some 1 explain the latest model run and is this where the latest forecast has came from, this is a model related post.

    Blizzards,

I agree, the bbc are now going for snow in the far south east (kent) and nothing but rain in our area. Are the models going for a downgrade? To warm for snow?

Could someone explain? Have the tables turned?

Its the only chat no 1 is prepared to answer my question, shake heads and scratch my head while writing this. :D

  6. Tables not really turned, just people reading what they want in something that clearly is not there. Some people will see some brief snow, but that's not uncommon. The majority will see rain (me included). I think March is fast approaching and this month has been a lovely end to a lovely winter. I dare say we get brief cold spells between now and March, but nothing drastic and fleeting in my opinion.

Charts and moods appear to support that this is a blip in a long line of chilly blips, also like to add, no mild spells on the way either just chilly.

The BBC were predicting snow for many parts of the SE and the Met.Office issued warnings for my area and now the BBC are showing and saying snow for the far SE only, what I'm asking is can some 1 give me a clear picture in what the models are suggesting now like I said its a downgrade from the BBC so can some 1 looking for the Holy Grail in the model runs please explain the very latest situation with the model runs.

    Thought so I guess not?

  8. The reason why the Met have probably removed the warnings from Peterborough is because the latest FAX's show the front stalling further south. The latest countryfile forecast said some places could see 5-10cm on Tuesday night. Im not ruling out snow in Peterborough but the front is going to stall further south according to the latest charts

Would it stall over Hertfordshire do you think Snowman?

  9. Who believes in the flock of seagulls theory, My point is that today at work i watched from about 3pm onwards on and off loads of flocking seagulls flying ONE direction SOUTH.

ALARM BELLS rang when this exact same situation happend 3 to 4 days before the december eastley hit on the night of the blizzards. Maybe its nonsense who knows they say wild life are the best predictors when bad weather is on route.

Were they the same Seagulls because that may even be better of a Omen, every 1 is right its not worth getting our hopes up about the cold and snow until 12 hours before its forecasted so lets just let the thread die and talk about the weather for now. :yahoo:

  10. Was that the +144? Lets just keep an eye on the models in the next couple of days and if the trend continues maybe just maybe. You know what Snowman I think this Winter will end on a big event and maybe this is the 1 but a lot can go wrong from here to then.

But its certainly going to be another interesting 3-4 days Im making no predictions from this 1 just let it happen and keep everthing crossed its about time we had some luck after all thE model wathcing its frustrating seeing it all go wrong.

  11. Ive now given up on chances for significant snowfall here for the rest of the week. Latest FAX charts show little in the way of troughs and HP will be too strong over us by Friday. Back into FI land for snow! Current models like GFS suggest snow potential next week for our region, will see how it pans out over the next few days.

There might be a band of organised showers hitting our region tonight though which may give a dusting in places

:p Never mind there is always next week. Whats the models suggesting now Snowman and where is it going to snow this week is it still Kent?

  12. Yep even the GFS has the HP a little further North, lets hope this is a new trend and continues with it.

Would be nice to get some snowfall this week, as i feel if not, it may be the last chance until next winter.

Precipitation charts looking very good too. It's been raining here, and whats very weird, is although the temp is 1.5c, the dew is 1.3, and its snowing on the backend very heavily, for saying the 0c isotherm is at 500m, in heavier precip it will drop slightly but with a high dew point it's surpising, but also a good sign imho.

    lewis

Im glad you are happier today and yes its looking a little better lets see what the next run brings, like you said it could be the trend and its been posted on here dozens of times by other members that things could and most probably look more favourable. Lets be positive today unless there is a major setback.
