  1. Snowing moderately here too but I don't think that wind is helping for any further accumulations the way its blowing the snow around outside. Here it has put down a small extra covering on the road on top of what there already was from earlier in the week.
  2. I know what you mean it sometimes looks like a tornado made out of snow forming outside. It is mental all of a sudden the wind blows it up and then all of a sudden it blows loads of snow down. Hope the snow in Yorkshire makes its way over here.
  3. Been moderate to heavy snow here now for about 20mins. Isn't half of blowing a gale out there at times blowing the snow all over the show.
  4. Nothing much atm mate the wind is basically blowing upwards rather down towards the ground theres that little atm. Edit: Getting a bit more heavier now but still on the light side of moderate.
  5. Light snow just started falling here. The sky overhead is getting more and more cloudy and a nice orange colour.
  6. Just had a few snow flurries here. Looks like this event with the down scale is going to be a anti-climax.
  7. Just seen the odd 1 or 2 snow flake fall past the street light. Edit: Getting a bit heavier now but still light. Been snowing here now for the past 30mins. Light snow in the main with a lot of tiny snow flakes but occasionally moderate. Nice none the less and will wonder how long it will carry on for. Hoping for some snow on Sunday/Monday too. Anyway Im off. Night all.
  8. Nothing here atm. The showers are so close but seem to dancing around at the minute.
  9. Don't know if this has already been posted or anyone seen but they have removed the weather advisory on Sunday for the Midlands too. Only the south east remain in the advisory. Bit of a change isn't it?
  10. BBC Forecast suggests a Heavy snow shower around 3am round our area. But there is some showers travelling from the NE but its If they can make it over the Pennines and if they have anything left in them time they get to us. Our best shout is hopefully Sunday/Monday. But we have been taken off the Weather Advisory list by the MetOffice but the Manchester Area's are in the advisory. Only takes a little change and it could be upon us.
  11. Them showers in the NE seem to be grouping together. Look like they have a bit of energy about them too but I guess once they have gone through the NE and Yorkshire and over the Pennines if they make it they won't have much left of them?
  12. Them showers in the North East seem to be making good progress across the NE and North Sea at the moment and if they stay travelling in the current direction should be on for a direct hit for most of the region. All of that is if they get across the Pennines. But will be radar watching with some hope for the next few hours
  13. Must of a been a very cold night round here because some of the condensation on my bedroom window had turned to ice Bit worried about the Sunday event as the Lancashire area has been taken off the weather advisory
  14. According to the BBC website the current data says it is -15C here. It can't be that low surely?
  15. ITV local forecast and BBC Forecast has my area down for some light snow tonight. Shall have to see what happens.
  16. Just a breif snow shower. Moderate falling but lots of little flakes being blown about in the wind. Weather Advisory for the NW out for Sunday by the Met Office. There is a moderate risk of severe weather affecting many parts of Northern Ireland, Wales and much of England. There is potential for further outbreaks of snow, which could locally become heavy and prolonged at times. This will lead to further icy stretches on roads and pavements. Issued at: 1126 Wed 6 Jan
  17. I don't believe it. According to the RainToday radar them showers are set to skittle past me by a matter of miles. And by that I mean 3 or 4.
  18. Reports of heavy snow across the Pennines. Hope Pennines don't kill of its intensity.
  19. On that Metcheck I am quite surprised with what I have found. They have the NW under snow at 03:00am and the south of the region at 06:00am. And tomorrow night they have us under some snow starting at 6pm slowly filtering southwards as it is still there at 9pm. Don't know if It will happen or not though! Also that big band of showers up in Newcastle swinging downwards has caught my eye also. Looks like its swinging too far away and that North Lancs or Cumbria might get it if it makes it. But a little shift in wind direction could change it.
  20. They always seem to drift south of me by a few miles. According to the Radar anyway. Hoping I might catch the edge of them If they make it over the Pennines. According to the RainToday radar Oldham is now getting snow?
  21. Think any chance of me getting any showers from the NE is looking unlikely. What there is just dying out as it hits the Pennines but the band a bit further south which is on course looks good if it can get over the Pennines for Manchester southwards. But I just look now and a few showers have just formed and grouped and seemed to have a bit of energy. http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ Watch the 00:15 reading. Or is it wishful thinking?
  22. Got a feeling by the radar and the direction of the showers that I am going to just miss the main ones or might just catch the edges of them if they make it over the Pennines.
  23. Neither do I. I am watching on RainToday. http://www.raintoday.co.uk/
  24. I still have my eyes on them showers coming from the NE and the Humber. They are moving across at quite a nice rate and now should be coming up to the Leeds area. I will keep tracking them for the meanwhile (Probably to no avail as the Pennines will kill them off)
