    Starting to get a feeling that this isn't going to turn out as good has we planned. That band as weakened a lot over the Scottish highlands.

    Been like that here for past 30mins and no precip either yet. Hope everything turns out to be good for the whole region tonight!

    Was in car at 2:30pm temp was 2C. By 3:30 it had dropped down to -2C and large menacing looking clouds building up now. Hills look like they are getting a pasting so hopefully be my way soon. Could make for interesting night hopefully.

    Weather advisory out for the North West by Metoffice for Tuesday. There is a moderate risk of severe weather affecting Northern Ireland, parts of southwest Scotland, northwest England and North Wales on Tuesday. Overnight rain, sleet and snow will clear southwards early Tuesday and as temperatures fall, widespread ice is likely to form on untreated roads and paths. Issued at: 1715 Sun 3 Jan My link So is this our next best chance of some snow this week?

    We had a light snow shower which turned quite heavy for a time for about 45mins/1hour this afternoon at about 1pm but it put another layer of snow on top of the snow/ice which was already down from yesterday but had nothing since then. Anything for tonight or is it going to be a clear night tonight? Cheers.

    Yes about 2:30pm a heavy snow shower passed through. Lasted about 15/20 minutes.

    Just had a breif light snow shower here for a few minutes. Not brilliant but better than nothing!

    The flakes have gone slightly smaller here but it is still pelting it down with snow!

    Seriously this is the heaviest snow I have ever seen with the size of flakes too. Most of them the palm of your hand! How long is it going to last?

    Mental here too massive flakes and falling heavy too and swirling round in the wind! Can't say I have seen anything like this for a while! Long may it continue!

    Correct a nice moderate snowfall has begun. Its taken its time but its finally here. Should hopefully top up the good accumulations on the ground already! BBC Forecast has us down for snow at 3am, 6am and 9am Good chance of that happening? EDIT: Getting heavy now!

    Was looking forward to another storm today after yesterday. But even a weather warning of heavy rain couldn't produce one drop of rain all day never mind a storm.
