  1. BBC forecast has me down for light snow at 6pm. Heavy Snow at 9pm and Light Snow at 12am with sleet afterwards. Confident that it could be snow! Fingers crossed. It also has me down for snow everyday till Sunday on the 5 day forecast. But as we all know it can easily change! http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/2104?area=BB6
  2. The Midlands forum is reporting snow. Fingers crossed I hope this band makes it this far north!
  3. According to the BBC im due one around 3pm. Fingers crossed
  4. Pleasantly surprised woke up to a slight covering on cars and roofs this morning. Majority of it has now gone but still nice to see! Monday looks really good if it actually came off!
  5. Can report wet snow at the moment. Started off as sleet but as turned to wet snow as the ppn has intensified a bit. Back to rain/sleet now with the odd flake mixed in at the moment.
  6. 18z looks good for Thursday and Friday. Fingers crossed. Hoping for some temporary snow cover tomorrow after looking at the BBC forecast which shows snow showers. Netweather shows more of a rain/sleet mix. We shall see.
  7. BBC forecast for my are has Snow at 3am. Hail Shower at 9am and Snow at 12pm and 3pm. Shall see if any of it happens. 12z seems similar to the 6z earlier on and predicting more of a sleety mix than snow.
  8. Just heavy rain here Defiantly a day to stay inside!
  9. BBC forecasted my area for light snow shower on Tuesday. Met Office has removed the weather advisory for the NW area and most areas to be honest. But the BBC has been accurate as of late for forecasting snow. For me anyway.
  10. Compared to the 6z earlier on today its not as good. That was a brilliant run got me a little bit excited when I saw that.
  11. 18z doesn't look very clever either. BBC has gone for sleet for my area on Tuesday with highs of 2C and lows of -2C. But I guess there is quite a bit of time to go till the models can be spot on but as we all know it can all change very quickly.
  12. Just seen the local forecast for me on the homepage for me on Tuesday and early hours of Wednesday and wow! Would finish off a brilliant winter if it came off!
  13. Can see a quite beefy looking shower coming my way outside and on the raintoday radar. I wish these showers would organise themselves and stop being so isolated because they are making their way over the Pennines quite regularly! Edit: Few flakes blowing about in a stiff breeze at the moment! Light snow started falling and being blown round. Some massive flakes mixed in.
  14. Just stopped here so had a particularly heavy snow shower which lasted about 10mins. Left no covering though cause it was starting to settle but its all gone now so temps must be too high but I have got a bit which has settled on top of the garden table at least! These showers seem to making there way across the Pennines which is promising but bad thing is they aren't very organised and are isolated and seem to be moving through very quickly. Sky looks very clear now to my NE.
  15. Very snow shower just begun. Winds very strong so all the little flakes just being blown around but starting to settle just about. Bit wild out there!
  16. Just had a brief moderate to heavy snow shower. Now clear sky's with the sun beaming down. Seemed to pass through rather quickly.
  17. So from looking at the models what do people think the chances are from the system moving south from the north next week?
  18. if the GFS comes off next week that would be good! Here is hoping too! Can't see there being much chance for us this week though?
  19. Had stopped but has just started snowing again quite moderately here. Can't see it lasting though looking at the radar. Nice while it lasted
  20. After going a bit lighter it has intensified a bit and starting to come down heavier with nice size flakes. How long you reckon this will last for Blackburn area?
  21. Snow starting to get heavier now with bigger flakes and sticking with ease
  22. Moderate to heavy snow here in Blackburn but only small flakes. Starting to stick a little bit.
  23. Weather advisory out for Wednesday with heavy snow. accumulations up to 10cm. Shall see what changes over the coming days.
  24. Keep an eye on what it does as it passes over the North Wales mountians. Could well take some energy out of it. Looks a beast of a band though looking at the rain today radar.
  25. Had a snow shower this morning but didn't lead to any further accumulations. From then on been mostly sleet all day. Just been in the car and temp was 1.0C
