Hello fellow lurker!!!! I learnt quite a bit on here last year, and, as such, people at work nearly started to rely ion me for forecasts!!!! whoop!!! I even predicted a warm spell this summer for a whole week (shocking!) But I much prefer winter and the snow!!!! I can empathise with you about travelling though, even if I was working on Friday it is so close to home I could walk or get the bus! A couple of years back when it was bad though, I was working in Loughborough, got the bus - very pretty views through leicestershire, But it took 3 hrs to get to work and then the buses were taken off the roads! eek!!!! managed to get home though !!!!! Looking forward to friday if all of this comes off though!!!! My new pup George will love it , and hes so little it will be soooooo funny to see his face light up!!!!!!

Super duper!!! Thanks SnowTornado!!!!! I'm gonna hang around on here for a bit, have a look at charts etc and try and get myself back into the weather stuff!!!! I tend to leave it along during summer (unless there is a mega heatwave or mega thunder storm on its way!!!) and then I come back in winter, all prepared with my lampost outside my window!!!! Really hope we get some on Friday though! I'm off work this week, and to boot, I have a new puppy who has NEVER seen snow and who I know will LOVE it!!!! yey!!!!!!!!

Evening All!!! This is my first post this winter, after having gone to sleep for the summer, but I am now wide awake and ready for storms and, of course, snow!!!!!! Just been reading through the thread a little bit to catch up! I'm not convinced I will see any snow here in Nottingham (NG10), but it's very very windy out there at the moment and still raining, although not as heavy I don't think as it was earlier! Winds are definatley picking up!!!!!!

To be honest, I don't have a temperature guage lol!!! But can tell you that it feels a little warmer than it did a bit ago (I am very technical you see!!!) And popped outside to feed the stray cat (altogether now...awwwwwww) and noticed there seems to be some degree of cloud cover, certainly knowhere near as clear as last night! Don't worry, I won't get too over-excited, its clearly going to snizzle first anyway lol!!!!!!

Evening everyone!!! I have tried to refrain from wattching the weather so as not to get to over-excited about any snow potential!! However, I cannot resist tonight!!! Anyhow, hoping for some snow, even if it then gets washed away !!!!!

snowing here in Long Eaton now! It can't seem to make it's mind up though whether it is going to be sleet or snow!!! lol!!! was snowing in Loughborough when I left work at 5pm, and I came home to sleet, but looks like it is picking up quite nicely, especially in the last few minutes!!!

WOW!!!!!! What a fantastic walk in the 2" of snow this morning with the dog!!!!!! woke at about 6am to see a little bit of a covering, went back to sleep and woke at 8 to find 2"!!!!! it was brill!! and knowone else had been out in it so it was all lovely and fresh, even the cat came with us for a walk (hilarious!!!) Its all gone now though with a very quick thaw. And I notice that NW graphics don't show any snow for me over the next few days ah well, I can still hope!!!!!!!

Just been having a nose around and looks like the PPN is currently over wales(ish)!!!! oooooo, wish it would speed up and get here, then slow down and just sit above us all for a few hours!!! lol!!!!!

hi! I'm in Notts (Long Eaton) tis snowing here, but not settling Would be nice to get a white out but I don't think we will this time, though, acording to some there is more snow due early next week so we shall see!!!!!

Hellooooooooo!!!!!! Well, today event!! Was at work in Loughborough today, rain and drizzle to start around lunchtime (and think there must have been some freak hail event overnight because there were huge clumps of ice this morning that look like someone had shattered glass everywhere!!!) Andyway, about 3pmish it got sleety, then snowy, untill big chunky flakes started to fall just before 4pm. Made my way home about 4.30 to Long Eaton and arrived to rain Took dog for a walk, in sleet And now...........small flakes of snow gradually getting bigger for about the past hour or so!! Not settling yet as the ground is too wet, but hope it stays snowy at least untill I go to bed!!! (oooo that rhymed!!!)

Well, I was at work in Loughborough today, all we had was the odd very very very light snow shower, and drizzle. Really pants. I am getting just a little fed up now, the forecasts always seem to indicate that 'in about 10 days time we will get a reet good dumping of snow' and then in reality, when you get to 10 days time it's just cold and dry and dull :wacko: Please Please Please can we have another great snow event before the winter is out ???!!!!!!

I keep watching the weather forecasts and they just say 'cloudy tomorrow morning with bright sunshine in the afternoon and maybe a little bit of sleet' - thats just pants! I am going to get an ice-pick and smash that snow shield!!!!!!!

Hello All!!! I am still fairly new to all of this, can anybody say 'when' we are likely to hit the next cold spell/snow event?!

Helloooooo All!!!!! Well it Snizzled all day in Loughborough and all day in Long Eaton too!!! still snizzling now!! although some of it was the more grainy light snow which did settle a bit, but not enough for a white out Just wondering when our next lot of snow will be??!!!!!

Right peeps, I am going to dissappear now! But thank you for making me G-iggle!!!!! hehehehe lots tonight!!!!! We have nizzle here at the moment too!!!!! But fingers crossed eh!!!!! Hope we all get some snow and not just snizzle, mizzle or drizzle!!!!!!!!! Night all I'm off for some drinky-poos!!!!!!!

hmm, I have calmed down somewhat now! though now I will be putting izzle onto the ends of loads of words, like, when we have a heatwave and it's S-unny, we migh S-izzle!!!!!!! cor, it works with just about everything!!!!!!! That is going to keep me giggling for days lol!!! (simple things an all that!!!!)

ok, calm, have composed myself again now. Weather Report from NG - COLD!!!!!! no snizzle, or drizzle or pizzle here yet!!!! Still not certain we will see anything here to be honest so not holding my hopes up, but if I wake to a blanket of snow and home working I wont be upset!!!!!!!
