  1. its raining heavier than yesterday here my garden is floding at the back of the house, and running down the road in a torrent the intensity of it woke me up
  2. southerly gales currently here on the coast, 9c in very heavy rain

  4. very heavy down pours here, wind form the NE (not forecast direction) not to strong 5.5c im not sure the models are handling the current low very well judging by the wind speeds in places
  5. what an interesting day after the boring spell of weather we have had recently, all morning i had heavy rainfall and some was very intense causing my garden to flood for a time. the wind was calm most of the day, it picked up at around 14.45 all of a sudden i knew it was about to as i could see the sea cutting up rough with white tops. the strongest winds have been during the last 2 hours or so, highest currently mean wind 40mph and gusts 55+ mph i lve near to the coast on the highest part of land between me and the coast. so you could say its a bit drafty. and quite a while since it was this windy.
  6. very heavy rain for most of the day which cleared to a few sunny spells, temp currently 9.3c gale force winds have started to affect west cumbria now, leaves are blowing all over and the chimney is howling
  7. very heavy rain at present, its so dark got the lights on in the house, 10c very little wind
  8. its very wet at the moment, and also the wind has been quite strong gusting 30-40 mph its 12.2c
  9. very windy with gusts in the 50mph+ range, cold front passing through now and boy is it active! 11.2c with torrential rainfall

  12. well a lovely ''summers'' day today im calling it the summer we never had!! 20c reached in clear skies however it did cloud over this afternoon which was disappointing. and it looks like a fair bit of cloud on sat images

  14. very windy here currently, southerly 35mph with gusts 40-50mph only light intermitant rain. also very mild at 16.4

  16. 13.7c cloudy with light rain, quite a nice day here with a high of 18c clouded up late afternoon. the breeze has picked up in the last half hour from a SE direction, expecting a very windy morning here with 50-55mph gusts nothing like further north though!!
  17. 12.3c with light drizzle and a strong southerly wind 28mph gust 37mph at nearest observation.
  18. 12.9c hevy rain returned after a short drier spell, pressure 992mb and falling, wind light from more of an easterly direction now, i think the depression is predicted to cross over here so would expect light winds for a while until they pick up form the west/north west
  19. 996.5 mb and falling, light se wind and light to moderate rainfall, temp 13.9c
  20. 14.5c with steady rain which has not been to heavy yet, light breeze from the SE
  21. torrential rain on my drive home form work about 6pm, huge puddles of water and torrents running down the road like a river ive not seen that for a long time. met office rainfall radar had downpour white echos over cumbria during that time was glad to get home i can say!!
  22. january 2005 was the worse storm to affect my area taking into account damage scale which saw whole oak trees blown down in town centres and chimneys and house roofs tore off, official gust at st bees head was 104mph, i remember the met office issuing an emergency weather warning that afternoon. check the link its very interesting to read describing the storm development and official readings http://www.wiseweather.co.uk/id84.html
  23. quite a strong blow from this feature....at 8pm close to me at st bees head the wind was sustained at 37mph gusting around 50mph+
  24. pretty windy now 32mph with a gust of 47mph, 14.8c and showers malin head northern ireland recorded 67mph gust in last hour...very windy indeed in places
  25. light rain pushing in from the west, 15.6c with a strong southerly wind which is gusting to 60mph over parts of ireland atm, this depression is stronger than forecast by models a think taking shape nicely on sat images
