  1. I think looking at the gfs charts theres the potential of some snowfall that could suprise a few over the next week, anytime between tuesday evening and midday thursday. Just need some luck regarding precip but with the strength of the wind any showers that do get going could easily reach quite far inland. The bbc also mention the chance of wintry showers for that time period aswell.

I missed the forecast. I really hope the wind misses us, but I would love some snow.

  2. That's a very clever barometer!

Official stations in the central Midlands are mostly below 1c.

LOL, yeah, that would be one clever barometer wouldn't it.I really shouldn't post after consuming a couple of glasses of Baileys Irish Cream. In fact, the reading came from a very old mercury thermometer ( it was my grandad's). It is in a shelter position in the yard, though I can't swear to its accuracy, it has always been pretty reliable.

I'm without my weather station, it's still on the boat, I'll have to fetch it back.

  3. It's great tp hear that some snow is making it into the midlands. Please, please, please, post photos, I have almost forgotten what the stuff looks like. No snow here, but despite being above freezing by the time I got up this morning, there was black ice on the paths. Walking the dogs was interesting to say the least. Doggies with four paw drive easily out maneuvered me. Thinking of harnesses and a sledge, but as they are only terriers I have dismissed the idea.
