  1. Temp here is -1.3 If we do get the snow what time can we expect it to start?
  2. You have to get more that 1cm because if you don't, being next in line we won't get any at all. oops refreshed page and this sent again
  3. You have to get more that 1cm because if you don't, being next in line we won't get any at all.
  4. Temp here just dropped back to below freezing -0.4
  5. The canal has remained frozen all day, a couple of boats have just broken the ice, the noise was incredible. The hull of my boat amplifying it, it sounds like the ice is singing followed by loud cracks and bangs as the ice breaks.
  6. It went down to -6.6c here in Hinckley last night, the temps climbed to 2.2 and has just started to drop back. We have had clear blue skies all morning, it has in the last 1/2 hr begun to cloud up. I am not sure how big the cloud band is as I have very limited view of the horizon due to trees. I have my fingers crossed for snow this evening, are the chances good or is it going to fizzle away to nothing before it gets to us? Since I started typing the temp has dropped to 1.9c
  7. Just what I wanted to hear.....Oh I mean the snow not that its open house for free christmas shopping at your house.
  8. Because there are some of us who don't really understand the models and charts etc. (me) and are trying to get as much info as poss. We enjoy getting excited when everyone agrees its going to snow and then equally enjoy being fed up and saying what rubbish the forecast is when they get it wrong
  9. Well if its all going to be rain and drizzle, then I think its only fair that it misses hinckley, just as the snow did. If however its going to be snow then its more than welcome.
  10. Its -2.4c and falling. Sky is almost completely clear. The canal is starting to refreeze.
  11. NO no noooooooooo. Not again. I can't take it
  12. I'm sliding into a serious depression....I need a snow I really got excited by all the talk of repeating 1981, 1962/63 etc. and we have had no more that a couple of flurries. No snow on the ground, none in the air and I can't see any heading this way.
  13. I've been watching the radar, the snow comes so close only to fade out or swing away from us. Here's a link to the radar I've been using. Double click on the map to zoom in to our area. Make sure you have your tissues handy to mop up the tears. http://uk.weather.co...rad&title=Radar
  14. We have another cloud edge over us now. Might get about 10 flakes from it I'm right on the edge of Hinckley near the longshoot, where abouts are you?
  15. Back to blue skies Don't think we are going to get anything to speak of out of this.......please tell me I'm wrong. So pleased for all of you who have snow, enjoy, and keep posting because even if we miss out its fantastic to hear of those of you who have snow
  16. In Hinckley we are right on the edge of this band. We have had some snow but very light looks like icing sugar on the gound. I can see the band of cloud moving past and we are just on the very edge, its so frustrating. Just spoke to my mother in Market Harborough and its snowing heavily and settling fast. Temp here fluctuating between 0c and 0.6c
  17. I have just been outside, there are now a few clouds, not many and they are moving quite quickly. The wind is really picking up and is a constant blow. Sorry if the descriptions are a bit play school but I don't know the techy terms.
  18. Here in Hinckley (leicestershire/warwickshire border) we have had a couple of snow showers earlier today but none of it stuck. The temp was 4.2, it went really dark and started to snow, the temp dropped to 1.5 in a couple of minutes. Its currently -1.1c with clear skies and some gusty winds. The weather forecasts for us range from some snow to no snow. So I'm heading for the window far to frequently in hope its clouded up and snowing Just going to watch country file, hope they have good news in their forecast. Good luck everyone for snow where ever you are.
  19. The temp here got down to 3.8c but it is slinging it down with rain and the temp has gone back up to 4.1c
  20. Temp here falling, down to 4.3c. Willing it to drop faster, promised grand children and the dog a snowball fight if it all comes together right.
  21. I'm so glad you posted, cheered me up no end. The temp here is starting to fall now for 5.7c to 4.8c. The BBC "Midlands Today" at lunch time said we could see some snow by tomorrow evening.
  22. I'm so confused Some people posting that everythings ok, that the cold and snow are on their way, others sound suicidal and say its going to be nothing but chilly with raining. When will we know for certain whats going to happen, or is it that if I go out and come in covered in snow its snowing and it I come in wet its raining . Thoroughly enjoying the build up even if it doesn't come to anything really.
  23. The only cold we have here is the one I have....please pass the tissues...sniff sniff. Its 8c at the moment at this rate the daffs will be flowering by next week. The models looked so exciting and even though I knew following them was like chasing rainbows. Still it won't stop me from looking at them and hoping. Sorry folks but this is the whining thread....sniff...sniff ..... I feel a bit better now after my moan.
  24. Many thanks for the reply. Im keeping my fingers crossed. I do so hope we all get snow.
