Snow slowly getting heavier here. Mets forecast for Newcastle goes for snow through till sunday then sleet, but for durham its all snow.

Latest bbc forecast had us mostly missing the boat tomorrow and didn't even offer a forecast for saturday.

Where did yesterdays models put the ppn the midlands and northern england have had this evening -
That ppn to the south is definatly drifting north towards us according to radar.

Probably best charts I've ever seen. The fax showers a trough just off northeast england tomorrow before the front moves across uk. Could be a very snowy few days. -
3rd ice day in a row here I'd say as its still only -2.6. Heard radio forecast say heavy snow showers tomorrow morning then moderate snow and blizzards tomorrow night and into saturday. Mets warning doesn't reflect this but that trough on fax and then the front from west would definatly provide that. Also looking like lots of snow potential for early next week.

Met office 5 day forecast for prudhoe 89masl has snow from fri 1500 right through till the end of forecast at 9pm monday with a max temp of 1 throughout. Mostly light snow with a bit of heavy staurday and sunday nights. Now mention of rain, sleet or milder temps.

The bbc forecast at 745 didn't go past 10am tomorrow but on the local at 8 it had snow for newcastle and durham for friday and saturday in the 3 box graphics

-5.2 after a -8.6 night. Might I sugest that if next weeks charts come off it could be worse than 2010 as we are in midwinter and not late autumn now.

He said 2 days ago friday night would be+2 but now say-3. Even bbc 5 day forcast has snow fri/sat/sun. Hugh pinch of salt plus all models going for snow!

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/news/releases/archive/2013/heavy_snow_warning Its brought the higher risk into western durham and northumberland. Another 20 miles or so and it will cover us•

The mets orange warning comes to within 30 miles or so as the crow flies from us. A small shift ne and we will be in for some serious fun friday/Saturday.

Every bbc forecast seems to push fridays snow a bit further east. Last one had its easterly line well into the north sea.

Places like my village, consett, stanley should se plenty of snow if it comes off

Well I've got to drive to barrow and back on friday so could be an interesting drive.
