    Just got electic reconected. Still hammering down with snow. Not stopped since 1am. Looking quite deep and scenic but didn't brave going out cause got no protection from the wind and driving snow once out. Still cut off but will have to do something tomorrow. Good to be around 1000 feet and 30 miles inland when it hits but just hope it doesn't keep us in house too long.

    According to itv weather our snow will die out around lunchtime tomorrow. Will be some very impressive totals around the high ground by then. Heard from mate that prudhoe is also snowbound.

    I think ill brave conditions a bit later for some pics. Must be well over a foot now here. Relentless blizzards here and drifting snow since it started and 18 hours still to come met office reckon. 3 foot fence posts on mates field next door are just about buried. Can just about see 6 foot or so drifts against buildings. Worst (best) day of snow for years.

    Non stop blizzards here since at least since 6. Completly cut off. Snow looks about a foot deep and drift look up to 6 foot in places. Would be completly nuts to even consider leaving the house today. Worst snow since 2010 although nowhere near as deep. Yet.

    3-4 inches in last 12 hours. Dry now but radar and forecast looking good for nore.

    These unexpected showers before the heavy stuff tomorrow have dropped about an inch of fresh snow. Looking good now for the main event

    Light snow on and off since 6ish here. Dp and air temp perfect for heavy snow. Less than an hour away now according ro met o. Freezer full so all ready for snow storm 2013.

    Another ice day today although -0.3 at 1255 is the highest since last monday. -1.1 now and dp of -4.2. Just need that ppn.

    Just measured with tape and its currently 26cms. We are near enough double the height of the A69 and just a short drive down hill to ebchester and the snow is near enough only half as deep.

    Interesting day ahead. Wouldn't be suprised to see warning area enlarged close to event. If we get another 20cms here that will put total around half a metre here.

    Latest bbc forecast had orange warning right over our heads but they are predicting more snow than they were for that part of wales that had a red.

    The met office has heavy snow down the road from me in prudhoe starting at 1800 tonight and going unabated until light snow takes over at 0000 on tuesday. If happens we will be digging out for a week.

    Well with 12 hours to go all the models, met and bbc + itv all forecasting a very wintry spell of weather for all of us over next 48 hours. Looking like sleet right on the beach and snow any distance inland with totals of up to 20cms being mentioned. Very interesting time ahead.

    Still snowing heavy and really starting to mount up. If the gfs is right about tomorrow night into monday and tuesday we should be well over a foot deep here. Seriously though if it does snow as heavy and for as long as they are saying things could get bad with places being cut off and roads closed. Think ill stock up tomorrow if we can get out.

    Just watch a programme about the feb 2009 “SUPER BLIZZARDâ€. Delivered 6inches across the country. A one in 20 year event the experts said then. Apart from every winter since it seams. Plenty more in the north sea to come and monday starting to look very very interesting.

    Still some decent looking showers out to sea. Can't complain really though as path I cleared today now got a new 3 inch cover just in the last 3 hours or so.
