Looks there were some good storms yesterday. I had adsolutely nothing - just 1.2mm of rain
Today, I've had 12.6mm so far and had the same amount as yesterday in just 5mins this morning - unfortunately no thunder or lightening just rain.
I dont think theres a huge chance of much happening today, certainly nonthing like yesterday. Although I had nothing yesterday so anything would be nice. Had 1.2mm of rain yesterday and already this morning have had 8.0mm with more to come on the radar. There was also a high rain rate of 52.4mm/hour at around 2:50am which I think is onbe of the highest I've seen for me.
Seems like a lot of cells are now decaying, here in Cardiff, have just had a little bit of rain - not even heavy. Anything decent has gone slightly to the East or Wesr of me.
Those few in South West England and moving into South Wales seem to be developing and a couple of sferics have been detected, also getting some reports of loud thunder from the South Wales area.
Apologies, the topic I started has been combined with another but heres the link to environment agency water situation site: http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/research/library/publications/33995.aspx there are a couple of PDF reports at the bottom of the page that show river levels and reservoir levels.
The main areas that need rain are North West England and some areas of Wales. i started a topic last week about it with a few links to the Environment Agency who publish various reports on water levels: Its the same with some reservoirs in the Brecon Beacons, when they get low enough you can see the remains of old buildings that were flooded when they built the reservoirs - its very interesting.
River and reservoir levels are currently very low in North West England and South Wales. The Environment Agency produce river flow data and reservoir data weekly and monthly respectively and these make for quite interesting reading, I have put the links below: http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/static/documents/Leisure/Drought_18June10.pdf http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/static/documents/Research/WSR_May_2010_national.pdf http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/static/documents/Research/Weekly_Summary_150610.pdf I have also put a couple of pictures up on my site that I took over the weekend at Pontsticill Reservoir in the Brecon Beacons. http://cardiffstormchaser.net/stories/south_wales_drought_210610.html
Virtually nothing here, some convection to my far North and East but blue skys here. Im enjoying watching the radar and reading the posts though. My time will come soon im sure.
Now I know virtually nothing about this kind of thing but I do find it very interesting. Ive been looking on the IMO website at the tremor plots and from what I can see the general trend is that the number of tremors is increasing. Does this mean the volcano (im not even going to attempt to write its name) is becoming more active?
That would be brilliant. I think 'apps' are the way forward for a lot businesses. I'm seriously considering getting an iPad, I've been in the Apple Store everyday since its launch but just bring myself to spend that amount of money. Just wondering if you think its worth the price.
Saw this earlier: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/jun/03/guatemala-city-sinkhole Its pretty crazy and I've not seen anything like it before. I think its real but the pictures really do look fake.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Muvz6OnY4O8 This will surely get Paul to not only try the steak challenge but to complete the steak challenge. P.S. If I post on here more than once will my name be put it for the draw more than once?
Now I dont think you will have this song its by Reverend Horton Heat and is called Eat Steak. The lyrics are brilliant - http://www.mp3lyrics...orton-heat/eat/ Im sure it'll get Paul in the mood for his big challenge. Heres a link to the song on YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Muvz6OnY4O8 Its hilarious.
Sounds absolutely amazing, I was watching the live feed until about midnight but I wish I had hung in there for another few hours. I cant wait to see everyones pictures and videos.
So are they just watching and waiting for cells to develop now? I notice that the TIV, Reed Timmer, Brandon Ivey etc all seem to waiting just to the South West of the Netweather team in Pine Bluff.
In the meantime there are actually some really good feeds from chasers on severe studios and tornadovideos.net The TIV is streaming live from the same cell as the NW Team Edit: The Netweather stream is back now
