  1. Season 4 will show in the UK from December 20th
  2. Yeah, I think anything that does or probably already has formed will be completely rain wrapped and moving at such speed it will be extremely dangerous. There are a couple of chaers out there and live streaming on chaser.tv and others. Just looking at twitter and there are some reports of possible tornado damage in Wisconsin, there are tornado warnings everywhere and a couple are PDS. Take cover if your in the Midwest.
  3. I use the Metoffice app which is pretty good. I've tried others that provide data from local weather stations but they tend to be based in the USA so not many areas of the UK are covered, and some are quite expensive.
  4. I'm from Cardiff and I have to say you've chosen a very nice hotel. Unfortunately im in Uni atm so wont be able to join you but heres an idea - what about the new Hooters restaurant that is opening :winky:
  5. If only I could have gone to Uni a week earlier lol. I would have been in Loughborough now where there was a very good storm today. Oh well.
  6. Watches and warnings in force: A HURRICANE WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR... * PUERTO CABEZAS NICARAGUA TO LIMON HONDURAS...INCLUDING THE OFFSHORE ISLANDS. A TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR... * PUERTO CABEZAS NICARAGUA TO LIMON HONDURAS...INCLUDING THE OFFSHORE ISLANDS. A TROPICAL STORM WARNING MEANS THAT TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE WARNING AREA WITHIN 36 HOURS.
  7. 95L is now a Tropical Depression...NHC to issue advisories momenterily. From NHC: "DATA FROM AN AIR FORCE RECONNAISSANCE PLANE INVESTIGATING THE AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IN THE SOUTHWESTERN CARIBBEAN SEA INDICATE THAT A TROPICAL DEPRESSION HAS FORMED. THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER WILL ISSUE A SPECIAL ADVISORY AT 2 PM EDT TODAY. THERE IS A HIGH CHANCE...100 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS"
  8. Theres a chance that the stuff just SW of Oxford is going to move towards Oxford.
  9. That line does look good on the radar. Like you say, plenty of sferics detected. Might be worth a little chase if your in that area.
  10. I see it slightly now, I'm not surprised that there is rotation mind with that convergence. Cell to the West of Hereford has started to develop in the last 30mins.
  11. Massive development in that storm but I'm not seeing any rotation - on the NW Radar anyway.
  12. Sun is pretty warm here when out with towers building everywhere so I've still got my fingers crossed. Looking at the ATD SFERICs there has been quite some activity just across the Bristol Channel.
  13. Look forward to the new series. Will dedfinately be watching on Youtube thanks to Gadgetglanman7. I like that it looks like they are going to show the other side of storm chasing...could be an emotional series - with the death of Matt aswell.
  14. A new show started yesterday on Five called 'How to take stunning pictures', its hosted by the lovely Suzi Perry (Gadget Show, MotoGP and others). Yesterdays was about taking portraits and was quite useful though basic I thought. I'm not sure what the remaining 7 (I think) episodes will feature but hopefully there will be some interesting hints and tips. I do know next week is about weddings *yawn* Anybody else see the show and what did you think? Here is the shows website - http://www3.five.tv/stunning_pictures/episodes Also, the Gadget Show do quite a few features on photography which are often quite good.
  15. ahh right, sorry. Can I ask, do the NHC use a 1 minute average or a 10 minute average to get their windspeeds?
  16. I thought a Cat 1 is 64-83mph, I'm not sure but I wouldnt have thought 4 mph was that much to gain but yes, another 12 hours and it would have definately been there.
  17. Hhhmmmm...well I've just read this saying the Gulf Stream is not slowing down: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8589512.stm
  18. That line of showers in the East has really developed in the last 30 mins.
  19. I recorded 18mm in my bucket (havent got a rain gauge) which is about what I was excpecting. If I had been about 10 miles West/North I probably would have had about double that. On the accumulation I can see that some areas, CS England, Isle of Wight got around 50mm and considering there are 12 flood watches in force I think it was a pretty intense night for some - but certainly not all - which is what was forecast.
  20. Just went back on the radar and your absolutely correct, its really intensified. Watch out for rain shadow though, all of this could fall over the high ground around the Brecon Beacons, leaving drizzle for you.
  21. If i'm correct the black line in the image below is around about where the heaviest precip was forecast. As you can see the bulk has gone a bit further South which I think the 18z NAE predicted. Also, heavy band has gone further North than predicted. Earlier, most of the rain was forecast to be South/East of Cardiff but it seems some has gone North/West.
