The forecast wasn't poor it was the duration. The producer cut Derek from 1.45 to 60 seconds to keep the programme on air! Derek is the programme sponge, often losing time rather than gaining it - which is a shame as the weather forecast is so important to people. However, that's the joys of live TV. You have to be flexible. A sense of humour helps too! :D

The forecast was rather short on Wednesday, I don't know why Wales Today are squeezing the forecast in at the end, it should have alot more prominence in the show, to be honest was there any point of Derek being there?

The weather bulletin was short so much so that Claire Summers the newsreader could have read it out. Most of the programme was about the high cost of petrol and diesel fuel. We should have had other news and a longer weather bulletin!

I certainly agree with the comments made about the forecast on Wednesday. For years Derek has been used as a sponge, and quite often he has a large time to fill with boring weather, and no time at all with really interesting and dangerous weather. Generally since the introduction of the new graphics the time allocated has been greater than before, and this has IMO improved the local forecast for and away above what it used to be like.

Please keep the comments coming, also nice that people are reading my comments.

By the way, Sorry about last night went to the local fair and missed the forecast. :D

WARNING - Heavy Rain for SW Wales

Tonight - Heavy rain in the evening and the first part of the night for SW Wales, as far west as Swansea, as far north as Ceredigion, most other spots will stay dry and it will turn dry in the SW later. Temps 13-16c, so another muggy night.

A Synoptic chart showers a low pressure in the Bay of Biscay this is influencing our weather and keeping conditions unsettled.

Tomorrow - Some heavy rain pushing into N and NE areas later form the East, Southern areas will be drier but there is always the chance of a sharp shower, Temps 19-21c.

For the Proms in the Park tomorrow night, a brolly may come in handy, as the occasional heavy shower is still possible.

Sunday (Summary) - Sunny intervals over Wales, with a temp of 18-20c.
