Clouds have now come over the area thanks to a upcoming anvil thats presently in London and slowly heading eastwards it seems. Still warm though.

Today: Dry and sunny start, more cloud than yesterday and generally medium to high level, had a heavy shower (in terms of rain drops) around 4pm and it has been threatening to do so again since.

Highs today of 22.4°c, again the warmest day of the year, that was an early afternoon high.

The temp at 12.50pm today was 5c, it rained most of the night and all morning, but brightened up this afternoon. (Oh and even saw a few sleety flakes in the rain!)

After a warm and sunny day, cumulonimbus towers started appearing but the rain stayed east- as it did yesterday. (One of my mates yesterday said that the rain came down in torrents for 3 hours yesterday in Glastonbury, about 15 miles northeast of me, flooding many of the roads- wheras here it stayed dry as the storm couldn't quite make it over.) Anyway, it is now cloudy with a few breaks every now and again.

Report for Friday 12th May 2006, Readings taken at 23:05.

An interesting day. The morning and early afternoon were warm with hazy sunshine and very little cloud. The afternoon then saw the arrival of thunderstorms, containing heavy rain and hail. These raged on and off until the early evening, with bright spells in between. The evening has since been relatvely quiet until the last half an hour or so, when it started to thunder once more. Temperature-wise it was the warmest day since September 13th 2005, though it cooled abruptly with the arrival of the first storm - an 8°C drop in 30 minutes!
