Hi all, here are three photos from me on my recent holiday in kenya and tanzania

The first picture is taken from the slopes of mount kilimanjaro at about 12,300ft looking down on the clouds under a full moon.

post-6055-1159470699_thumb.jpg

The second picture was taken at 18,900ft from the crater rim looking down on the clouds which were at about a height of 11,000ft. And the views were even better from the summit.

post-6055-1159470726_thumb.jpg

And finally the third picture was taken of the "king" of the animal kingdom at sunrise in the masai mara.post-6055-1159470748.jpg

My sentiment exactly, but with all this thunder about, i had better hang on, although if i post my third entry now, it may guarantee the best storm ever in Brading :)

I'll wait............... <_<

Well done Wibs on winning the August Comp

High standard and the closest I can remember.

Shuggee, just out of interest when is the cut-off for the 2007 Calendar and when will they be on sale?

Mark.

anyone know when the deadline is for posting pics

I'm hoping we get a couple more days because I've only just returned from two weeks holiday and need to sort some of my shots out..... and cut the damn lawn which is like a jungle!

BTW well done Wibs. :) I assume you won as the August vote thread is closed.

In an attempt to prompt the thunderstorm of a lifetime and missing out putting it in the competition :) Here is my 3rd entry :)post-4726-1159646502.jpg

I think the Scots are very lucky people, if you like clear air and scenery, like me that is, for some its too quiet :) Sun rise at Nairn.

Oh god i just noticed the con trail and i just said about clear air :)

And with that, a perfect moment to remind folk:

You need to reduce the size of your photos otherwise they will not be entered into the competition.

For instructions see the start of this thread.

Voting for the September competition will begin 12noon Wednesday :D

I've been asked to resize my pics so, seeing as the original post cannot be edited, I've had to repost them here. All were taken on the 7th September when the partial lunar eclipse happened.

Hope these are ok Shuggee.

OK, 3 from me. I didn't escape the house much last month, so a couple of shots of my wife's potted horse chestnut tree with its lone conker (which has now gone missing). Conkers always sum up autumn to me, and I never knew if it was best to bake them or soak them in vinegar...

The last one is from the September 13 storms. I only got the edge of the lightning, sadly, but it was an impressive strike. :D

Conkers always sum up autumn to me,

Couldn't agree more there Blackie, which is why two of my entries are of conkers trees and, this year very warm autumn sunshine. :D
