Its been a cold night here I recorded a low of -8.2 C but -9 C was recorded in Dumfries, It is now - 4.3 C but rising fast and a covering of high cloud.

Well now it is 7c

The wind direction has changed dramatically, it was around 2c and a NE'y direction at around 17:45, now it is 7c nearly 2 hours later with a S'ly direction at 13 mph

The front appears to have really slowed down pulling in the milder air in front of it, long before it reaches me

Though there is a chance of some wintry stuff down here on Friday when the wind reverts to a cold E'ly

All quiet so far in Birmingham, but I'm quietly optimistic about seeing a few flakes before midnight.

Or maybe tomorrow morning, but I'll more than likely be looking at Cornflakes rather than snowflakes, hence the fickle nature of snow in this part of the World. :?

I have experienced a temp rise like Highcliffe.

After all day at no more than 2c (started at -2c) it went down to 1c by 1600 but it is now up to almost 4c with the southerly breeze.

Had frost, ice, thick fog, hazy sunshine, then a clear evening before frontal cloud since 1900 ish.
