Post your storm reports here:

To start the thread i had an overhead flash of lightning and bang with torrential rain, gusts which flooded here in 10mins. There were some gusty winds also throw in for good measure so overall i'm happy ;)

Thunder heard in Trafford Park, Manchester. We've has some sustained heavy rain since lunch, now it's just drizzly but more to come according to the radar.

Andrew

Edit: Hang on, it's pouring again, but strangely bright.

Occasional distant rumbles in Cleadon, sufficient to make it four days in a row with thunder!

Beautiful day here in Ponteland but huge CuNims to both the South and the West of me-I heard one reasonably loud thunderclap at about 2-30 pm but my area stayed sunny and dry-curses!.

No let up in the very intense downpours over the past two hours in my part of Cheshire. Some flooding now being reported. Seems to be heading over in direction of the Peak. This is not good news for the very wet South Yorkshire area. Still plenty of convectional activity heading towards me as a type. Squalls also have hit the area.

Just had a thunderstorm pass through with some torrential rain, 11mm in approx 15 minutes. Now standing at 42mm for July already, all from thunderstorms! Remarkable!

yesterday at around 16:30 had a massive downpour of rain in sittingbourne, I could see at the top of the road what looked to be fog, but as it got closer I could see it was a thick wall of rain heading striaght for me, so I quickly turned all the headlights on etc.. and when this "wall" of rain hit my bus I thought the windscreen was going to cave in (and I was only doing 25mph!!) the rain came down so heavy that windscreen wipers couldnt cope, the wind picked up violently, sending this rain into "rain bands" and I thought I was in a hurricane suddenly!!! the road quickly turned into a river as well, really good freak weather lol

Good grief! Sitting here minding my own business about 10 mins ago, had been keeping an eye on the Nowcast site, nothing much happening, when suddenly the computer, sky box, router etc all went off, house alarms in road all going off, crack of thunder. Extremely heavy rain (got to an inch deep on the patio, deeper on the road outside as drains couldn't cope). Sadly not much in the way of lightning. All appears to have passed over now. Livened up a quiet sunday morning!

As I type another flash and rumble has just happened, probably sensible to turn off the computer now!

Still heavy rain. Main storm cell now to the East. Clearance out to the west, but looks like further convective cells forming off the Welsh Mountains.
