Bromley Kent has gone dark and it feels about 5pm on a winters evening. :o

Same in Bexleyheath - its dark - but the sky has a yellow tinge to it?

Rain is really coming down here now. A few rumbles of thunder, too, and it's gone very dark in the past few minutes.

Hi ilsewin, the radar shows just how heavy the rainfall is across London and central southern England. Must be horendous conditions on roads at the moment.

Hi londonsnow, if it carries on for another hour or so at it's current intensity I suspect there will be some major flooding problems across low lying areas.

the sky's gone dark green!

:o Incredible :o

you wouldnt belive it up here, quite a nice day. take care people us northerners know only too well what could result. stay tuned to your local radio stations and keep an eye on the environment agency website. You can get automated messages to your phone if you find out the flood warning code.

Seems to still be tracking west to east so only the southern Midlands are likely to be affected - south of Brum only :o

To the West of the Pennines it's a different story. We've had light rain for the last hour which is now intensifying to the south of the city. Getting darker too.

To the west of the Pennines it is still dry and bright but it will go downhill there too during the afternoon.

I take it you are not in West London then, I would not decribe it as a heavy downpour with Thunder!!!!!!

A green sky is normally indicative of hail. Without seeing the sky i can't be sure but there may be hailstones around in your storms.

Looks very intense down London area now with the lightning detectors picking up a large amount of lightning. If its running on the convergence then should move up into the SE Midlands (Northamptonshire and surrounding areas) during the afternoon. If it does start to do this then i'll be taking a trip out to get a glimpse as it hits Leicestershire/Warwickshire early evening time.
