I saw one of these on the 13th July 2004. It was seen widely across Lincolnshire ,Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.

Its called a Circumzenithal arc and is quite rare. It comes from refraction through ice crystals as opposed to water droplets. Thats why its seen higher in the sky.More info here:

Bit late this month, but I just got back from China.

Here are the first batch of entries. Rest will follow when I can choose between them after I have had some sleep.

Weather:

Lovely clouds over karst mountain scenery in Yangshuo, near Guilin, Guangxi province, China

Sun setting behind behind karst mountain peaks with clouds and hot air balloons reflected in Yalong River, Yangshuo

Non weather:

Crystal Palace rock, stalagmite and stalactite formations reflected in an underground lake, Reed Flute Cave, Guilin

Horses galloping on the mud off East Beach, Shoeburyness, Essex
