Funny, coz we had a tremor in Warwickshire last night at around 11pm.

A loud noise was heard and books fell off shelves and general shaking.

I need to get a confirmation though.

Even in my house books fell off my book shelf.

It scared the hell out of me.

Could it be linked with Kent earthquake?

Yes possibly despite the UK not being on any plate margins, we do get quite a lot of tremors most of which are unnoticeable. I seem to recall a tremor in 2007 which was out the blue. :)

glacial settlement has a lot to do with it imo ..

Definitely as a result of the glacial period it is causing the northern half of Britain to tilt up gaining elevation asl it is said Scotland could add 10cm by when this century is out! and the southern half we're sinking into the sea. Not to fear it is a slow process! Ben Nevis is gaining altitude whilst Southern England we're descending closer to the sea. Not good with the polar caps receding, alright for you

At a depth of 677 km, this is the deepest large magnitude earthquake ever recorded. It was originally measured as an 8.5 magnitude event – something that was previously thought impossible. The planet is beginning to see more of these deep quakes- We had one just 2 years ago on May 24, 2013 in the Sea of Okhotsk, a 8.3 magnitude quake at 609 km and it astounded scientists – as large magnitude earthquake don’t usually occur at such depths. Tremors from today’s earthquake were felt all the way to Nepal and India. Think about it – New Delhi is 5,834 km (3,625 miles) from Tokyo.

A very rare (and rather large) magnitude 5.2 earthquake has struck Northern Egypt near the Jordan / Israel border along the Dead Sea Fault zone.

In an ironic twist of fate, the earthquake occurred at the exact reported location where Moses crossed in Exodus from Egypt when God parted the waters of the sea.

Nothing heard about it since like it never happened.

A 6.3 magnitude earthquake has struck East Timor, west of the capital Dili.

This I found most impressive though.

Massive crack 7 football fields long open up in Wyoming mountain range.

I`ve got a close up pic of it much more impressive but can`t post it never mind.
