Had mixed showers here today. Sunny this morning but plenty of beefy showers around this afternoon, mainly of rain and some sleet in the ehavier ones but recently had hail. Hve been expecting thunder but nothing yet. Milder but still of 7.2C the high today.

A spell of moderate-heavy snow early this morning gave just over 10cm of fresh snow and a mean level depth of almost 13cm by 0630. There was some drifting of the snow in exposed areas as the wind increased to f7 S. The snow turned to sleet by 0730 and to rain by 0800, the rain continuing until around 1100 and followed by light showers and a few short sunny intervals.

By 0900 the mean snow depth was down to 12.2cm and there has been a slow thaw all day.

The afternoon was mainly cloudy and dry, the cloud clearing for a while towards sunset but increasing again after 1700 and bringing more light showers.

Something of an interesting day here, despite completely missing out on any wintry stuff as per normal. Strong gusty winds, with frequent rain or hail showers, occasional claps of thunder and some lightning. Got up to 9.1c in the brief sunny spells, but also plunged to 4.5c in the heaviest of the showers.

Well unfortunately my weather station broke the other day and I had to send it back to www.weatherweatherweather.co.uk to get it repaired It's typical just as we get some 'proper' weather and I've got no way of recording it :lol: never mind lol.
